'Now there are rules on how often a woman can hold her baby bump?' asks a Twitter user after Meghan Markle's latest appearance sparks a debate

Meghan Markle has been in the middle of controversies ever since she and Prince Harry announced that they were getting married. From being the first woman of colour in the royal family, to an embarassing family who kept making bashing her for forgetting her roots, to her supposedly sour relations with Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Sussex has had it all. But in the midst of all the drama, especially the one created by her own father, Meghan and Harry had a beautiful secret which they revealed on the day of Harry's cousin's wedding. They were going to be parents. And since then people have just been thrilled. The former Suits actress has had a fairytale-like life with marrying a real prince and now being pregnant with his child and the happiness and glow on her face says that all the struggles were worth it. However, it doesn't seem to be over for her. Now, the Duchess' latest appearance at the British Fashion Awards this week has sparked a global debate as she was seen cradling her baby bump 'inappropriately' as per some Twitter users. The 37-year-old Duchess posed before presenting an award her wedding dress designer, Givenchy's artistic director Clare Waight Keller and the way she cradled her baby bump didn't go down well with the overly observant Twitterati. She received a major backlash where users pointed out that the pose was simple inappropriate and wrote mean things like #MeghanMarkle holding on to that bump like someone s about to snatch it, and Seriously, no pregnant woman poses for photo like this. Ever. She s such an actress. Another user commented, She should learn from Kate on how to pose regally when pregnant. Both hands discretely [sic] under the bump. Not cradling like Demi Moore. #Crasspregnancy.

Here are some other comments:

However, there were also some supporters of the Duchess who defended her saying that pregnancy is inherently uncomfortable and it's perfectly fine to cradle the living life in her body.

But her bump wasn t the only controversial part of Meghan s appearance at the BFAs. She once again broke another royal protocol with her dark manicure. But we are not surprised by it as Meghan and Harry have been ignoring a lot of protocols since they tied the knot. From holding hands in front of the Queen to not Meghan not crossing her legs right, there have been quite a few instances and we are assuming the Palace must be used to it by now.
