Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan's Simmba is the all time blockbuster at the box office

Despite the release of Vicky Kaushal's Uri: The Surgical Strike and Anupam Kher's The Accidental Prime Minister, Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan's Simmba continued to rake in moolah at the ticket windows. Regardless of limited screens, the masala cop actioner remained rock-steady and collected Rs 12.41 crore in its third weekend. It now stands with the grand total of Rs 224.84 crore and we are expecting the film to cross the Rs 230 crore mark by the end of its third week.

The film has already crossed the Rs 350 crore mark at the global box office and has become the biggest Bollywood earner of Reliance Entertainment, Rohit Shetty Picturez and Dharma Productions. Director Rohit Shetty, who is happy the film is "roaring globally", feels the success not only belongs to him but also to fans and the fraternity as a whole. "It feels incredible to see the excitement and fabulous response of the audience for 'Simmba' in cinema halls everywhere. I am very happy with the appreciation the film is garnering," he said.

Talking about the box office numbers, Ranveer said, "It is not about the numbers for me, it is basically to entertain people, to entertain as many as i can and as much as possible. I keep that purpose of life, i'm an entertainer and I want to be the best entertainer. It's a single point agenda for me and a personal ambition." Gully Boy has created all the right kind of buzz around it! Since the trailer was unveiled last week, everyone hasn’t stopped talking about it. Now, the makers have released the first song from Gully Boy and we have to say it’s all we needed to begin the week on a high note!

The song which is titled Apna Time Aayega, sees Ranveer Singh rap like a pro. The quirky lyrics of the song and the background score is sure to strike a chord. Apna Time Aayega is composed by Divine and Dub Sharma, and the lyrics are by Divine and Ankur Tewari.

Based on the lives of Mumbai rappers Divine and Naezy, and the city’s underground hip-hop scene, Gully Boy also stars Alia Bhatt, Kalki Koechlin, Siddhant Chaturvedi and others. Directed by Zoya Akhtar, the film will release on 14th February.

Is this the real reason behind Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday's dinner date?

Last time when Kartik Aaryan and Student of the Year 2 actress Ananya Panday were spotted together on a dinner date, several tongues were set wagging. Things were getting stirred up between the two, or so was the perception of the onlookers till Kartik came out clear about the episode. "People say all sorts of things if we have lunch or dinner together. It was just one dinner. I find it strange to read such things about myself," he had said at Agenda Aaj Tak.

But turns out it was not just a casual dinner. There was more to it if a DNA report is to be believed. According to the daily, Kartik and Ananya are set to share screen space in the remake of Sanjeev Kumar's Pati Patni Aur Woh. "Ananya has been signed on for the Pati Patni Aur Woh remake, which is being produced by Juno Chopra. She will essay the role that was portrayed by Ranjeeta Kaur in the original. The idea is to make it a modern version of the classic with a young cast. The makers wanted someone cute as well as glamorous for the part and she fit the bill. When the script was narrated to her, she was in splits and gave bulk dates, almost immediately," a source was quoted saying. The banner also plans to get a top actress on board for the wife s role, which was essayed by Vidya Sinha in the 1978 film.

Kartik will reprise the role of Sanjeev Kumar and as per the source, he was the top contender for the male lead. Kartik and Ananya have done a few readings together, the report further states. So it all falls in place now. The film will go on floors next month and it is interesting how Ananya Panday too, like Sara Ali Khan, has bagged her second film before the release of her first.

'It has never crossed either of our minds,' says Deepika Padukone on changing her surname after marriage

It's been two months since Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone got married and till date, the two are going strong. Which proves that they are made for each other. Despite that, one question has been bothering many people a lot, which is whether Deepika will add 'Singh' to her name or not. In her first interview post marriage, the actress had joked that in her case it would be- Deepika Padukone- wife of Ranveer Singh Padukone. Turns out, the Chennai Express actress never had a conversation about the same with her husband in real.

That (chat about it in an interview) was, of course, a joke of sorts. It has never crossed either of our minds. When I was asked I was like 'oh, we haven't even thought about it.' Maybe, because it's not important. Also, I've worked extremely hard to create my identity and so has he. So my question is, 'why would he have to do that?' I think what people see of us is a very minuscule part of our entire being and existence. But at the core of it, we are very alike."

Actor Vishal Thakkar From Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. Missing Since 3 Years

Munna Bhai M.B.B.S was a special film and we remember almost every actor from the film even if they had a small role. So most of us will also know Vishal Thakkar, the actor who played the role of a patient who tried to commit suicide after breaking up with his girlfriend. The actor has been missing for almost three years now, as per a report in Indian Express.

On 31st December 2015, Vishal had borrowed Rs. 500 from his mother, Durga and asked her to join him for a movie, Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Durga didn’t go along with her son and soon, he messaged his father, Mahendra saying he was going for a party and will see him tomorrow. Since then, the actor has been missing. “I have no clue what happened to my son,” Durga told the website.

As per the report, the police said he was last seen by his girlfriend on Ghodbunder Road at 11.45 am on 1st January. He had also shared a post on Facebook at wishing everyone a ‘Happy New Year’.

Further, the report also mentions about Vishal running into trouble in October 2015. His then-girlfriend, who is a TV actor, had filed a complaint of assault and rape. Talking about that, Durga said, “She frequented our house. One day they were together and the next day, she landed at my door with the police. It was a minor fight. Later, the two of them resolved it.” The TV actor had then withdrawn her complaint. Constable Rajesh Pandey, who is now looking into the case, said that there have been no traces of Vishal yet.

Emraan Hashmi's son, Ayaan, was just four years old when he was diagnosed with first stage cancer. However, with the support of his parents, friends and his own will power, the little one fought the deadly disease and has been declared cancer-free five years after his diagnosis. Thanking those who prayed for his son's well being, the actor took to social media handle and tweeted, "Today, 5 years after his diagnosis Ayaan has been declared cancer free. It has been quite a journey. Thank you for all your prayers and wishes. Love and prayers for all the cancer fighters out there, hope and belief goes a long way. You can WIN this battle !!! #thekissoflife." (sic)

As someone who has lived in Mumbai all my life, I pick up any chance to put on anything ‘winter appropriate’ the moment temperatures drop under 25°. So when I saw Yami wear this look, I was all over it!

Celebrity stylist Mohit Rai picked thigh-high boots and paired it with a grey knit cape from Nikita Mhaisalkar‘s Autumn Winter ’18 collection called Serif. We love how only two garments made up a look that was so statement-making. A couple of bracelets from Anaqa Jewels added the right amount of glam to this stylish winter look too.

Hindi and Marathi Veteran actor Kishore Pradhan passes at the age of 86. He is the most popular for his roles in Jab We Met and Lage Raho Munna Bhai. Other than this, he has also worked in over 100 Marathi theatre plays and 18 English plays.

Marathi poet and writer, Chandrashekhar Gokhale took to announce the news of the actors passing and pay him respects through a Facebook post. He remembered Mr.Pradhan for his talent of being able to mimick Johnny Walker and Jagdip.

Salman Khan's Dabangg 3 to CLASH with Ranbir Kapoor's Brahmastra this Christmas?- find out

The big clash of 2019 is reportedly going to be between Salman Khan's Dabangg 3 and Ranbir Kapoor-Alia Bhatt starrer Brahmastra. Buzz is that Khan is now eyeing a Christmas release for his cop-drama instead of Kick 2. According to a DNA report, since the script of Dabangg 3 has been locked, he intends to start shooting for it from April. "Initially, Bhai thought of starting Chulbul Pandey s third outing last September, while Bharat is also under production. But, since that film spans across many decades and consequently see him sporting different looks, he eventually decided to complete it before beginning Dabangg 3," a source informed the leading daily.

While his film, Bharat is scheduled for Eid release this year, Salman Khan is vouching for the Christmas weekend release for Dabangg 3. However, since the script of Kick sequel is yet to be worked on, the actor chose to go with his cop-drama.

Interestingly, it is being reported that the makers of Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer Brahmastra have decided to release the film on December 20 as well. That means Brahmastra is likely to clash with Dabangg 3 this Christmas. A white turtle neck top coupled with black tights and shoes, round glasses and Burberry tote bag completed her look, with hair tied in a neat bun. We love the way the actress carries her airport looks, and we adored the way Ranveer Singh has been matching his outfits with wifey dearest's whenever they are spotted together. We got so used to it in a matter of just one month after their Lake Como wedding, that the moment Ranveer slipped into his quirky dressing again for promoting Gully Boy, people couldn't help but make a joke out of it. #MeToo effect: Munna Bhai M.B.B.S 3 STALLED until Rajkumar Hirani gets a clean chit?

In the wake of #MeToo movement, filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani has come under the scanner as well after a woman (crew member on his film Sanju) accused him of sexual misconduct. The lady has alleged that Hirani sexually abused her 'on more than one occasion over a six-month period between March and September 2018'. However, the filmmaker has denied all the allegations levelled against him calling it a false malicious and mischievous story. Unfortunately, these allegations have certainly affected his work. After VVC decided to drop Hirani's name form the promotional material of Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga, now his film, Munna Bhai M.B.B.S 3 has been put on hold.

According to a Mid-Day report, the film will be kept on hold until the director gets a clean chit. "In a meeting in late December, it was decided that Fox would pull the plug on Munna Bhai 3 if Hirani was found guilty. The studio stands in solidarity with the survivor. VVC Films too has taken the matter seriously and dropped Hirani's name from the promotional material of Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga. An ICC set up by VVC Films will investigate the matter. Munna Bhai 3, however, by default, is on hold till Hirani gets a clean chit," a source from the studio was quoted as saying to the tabloid.

Exclusive: Amyra Dastur Reveals Her Fitness Regime

Amyra Dastur is one of the most beautiful actresses in Bollywood. She made her debut with Issaq and in the short span of her career has also managed to work with International superstar, Jackie Chan in Kung Fu Yoga. Besides her acting skills, Amyra also impresses her fans with her fashion choices and of course her fitness. She usually shares sneak peeks of her workout on her Instagram feed and because they usually give everyone major inspo, I had to know the secret behind the actress’ fitness. 

When asked about dieting she said:

I tried the whole diet regime but couldn’t keep it up because of my radical shooting schedules and travelling. I just don’t eat bread unless it’s Gluten Free, NO Rice at all (switched from rice to quinoa) and absolutely no dairy in my diet. I drink coffee with soy or almond milk or milk powder. No cheese unless it’s cashew cheese and I’ve switched from sugar to honey.

Talking about her meal plan she disclosed:

My breakfast is a three egg-white omelette with tomato, coriander, garlic & carrots with a slice of gluten free bread. Lunch and dinner are usually the same – 3 veggie dishes made in ghee (very little) + Dal + grilled chicken or fish. During the day I snack on fruits which have a high water content like watermelon, grapes, oranges and some dry fruits when I’m in the mood for something crunchy.

But like all of us, she also has her cheat days!

My cheat day is usually Sunday where I go crazy with pizza for breakfast, KFC for lunch & risotto or Pasta for dinner.

I am a procrastinator by nature and can’t stick to a gym routine but here’s a treat for all of you who can! Amyra revealed her fitness regime to us.

Check it out:

Monday/Wednesday & Friday: 10 am – 11:30 am is my gymnastics and flexibility training class at home.
Tuesday/Thursday & Saturday is the gym from 11 am – 12:30 pm. Here it’s mostly weight training with 10-15 minutes of cardio (treadmill or stair master) as a warm-up. 3 times a week in the afternoon I have a 2-hour dance class whenever my teacher and I have time free. Sometimes it’s 3 days in a row or alternate days but 3 times a week is fixed. On Sunday mornings, I love going for a run from the beginning of Nariman Point through the marine drive and straight to my apartment. I cab it to Nariman Point and get home on my own two legs either running or jogging. 

The actress also has a favourite routine that she swears by:

I’ve always wanted a nice toned butt and all I did was squats and deadlifts for 3 months while doing my lower body workout. 3 sets of Squats, 20 reps per set & the same for dead lifts. My butt went from a 34 to a 38 in 3 months!!! Now, I just maintain it but it really did work for me. Just squat till you drop I guess!

There you go, my friends. Now, you know the secret behind Amyra’s fit body. All you have to do is use this as motivation and get working on your fitness!

Exclusive! Vicky Kaushal confirms doing Karan Johar's horror movie before kick-starting Takht

Karan Johar's upcoming period drama Takht is one of the most exciting projects that has been announced recently. The magnum opus set in the Mughal Era has a stellar cast, a dream one for many directors. Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Bhumi Pednekar, Janhvi Kapoor, Anil Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal headline the primary cast. While Singh is playing Dara Shikoh, Kaushal is playing Aurangzeb. However, the movie is only going on the floors in mid-2019. Nevertheless, before that, Vicky Kaushal has already signed a horror movie. The project is helmed by Karan Johar's production house and will feature Bhumi Pednekar opposite him. It is directed by a debutant.

In an exclusive conversation with BollywoodLife, Vicky spoke about his upcoming horror flick. This will be the first time he will feature in the genre. Also, he shed light on the biggest movie of 2020. While talking about Karan Johar's directorial Takht, Vicky said, "It is a dream cast and a dream director." One and half minute official teaser and trailer was unveiled a while ago which proved that winter is finally coming. The teaser shows three siblings- Sansa, Jon Snow, and Arya Stark walking through the crypts of Winterfell. As they continue to walk, the trio sees the statues of their dead parents and themselves. In a shocking turn of events, filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani has been accused of sexual assault by a woman who worked with him on his film Sanju (2017). The woman, who was a crew member of the film, has alleged that the director abused her 'on more than one occasion over a six-month period between March and September 2018'. Hirani, however, has denied all the allegations levelled against him. Many people are taken aback by this development in the #MeToo movement and are still trying to come on terms with it. Amidst all of this, Vinta Nanda, who accused veteran actor, Alok Nath of rape, has reacted to the harassment allegations levelled against Rajkumar Hirani.

After Bharat, Disha Patani to star opposite Salman Khan in Kick 2?

Baaghi 2 actress, Disha Patani is on a roll. The actress, who will be seen playing the role of a trapeze artist in Salman Khan starrer Bharat, has reportedly landed yet another project with the actor. If a Mumbai Mirror report is anything to go with, then Disha will be seen opposite Salman in the sequel to Sajid Nadiadwala's Kick (2014). Buzz is that the 26-year-old is frequently spotted at Nadiawala's office and is in talks with him for the project which is expected to go on -floors by the year-end. When the tabloid contacted Sajid, he chose not to comment. However, a source informed that Disha is being considered for Kick 2.

Not just the sequel to Kick, but Sajid and Disha are in talks for other projects as well. The report also states that Baaghi 3 will not continue from where the last film was let off but it will have a different story altogether. And Disha will feature at least in one project if not both. Sounds interesting, isn't it? Since there is no confirmation from the makers, all we can do is wait and watch. But, at the same time, we are looking forward to seeing Salman and Disha's fresh pairing on the silver screen.

Movie this week: Why Cheat India

This Friday, we will have Emraan Hashmi telling us how the Indian education system is flawed and manipulated. It's amusing to realise what all this film went through. It was supposed to release as one of the four films to clash at the box office on January 25 along with Thackeray, Super 30 and Manikarnika. But the makers decided to come a week early in favour of Thackeray. They even organised a press conference where both the makers were present to announce that this film will finally release on January 18. After all that, Censor Board ordered the producers to change the name to Why Cheat India... as if that made any sense! Anyway, since producers have to release their film, they went with the changes. It is being said that Ajith is the only actor in the last 27 years to have beaten Rajini at the Tamil Nadu box office. Viswasam released in only Tamil, Petta was a trilingual release in Tamil, Telugu as well as Hindi. And so when we compare the two films' Tamil box office numbers, the result was shocking.

While Viswasam earned Rs 26 crore in Tamil Nadu on Day 1, Petta managed to collect only Rs 23 crore for it's Tamil release. However, Rajini's film's collection worldwide turned out to be better than that of Ajith's film, earning Rs 48 crore as compared to Viswasam which earned Rs 43 crore. But all said and done, it's just been 4 days and the battle is raging. Let's see how both the films fare at the end of their run at the theatres.

Viswasam marks the fourth collaboration between director Siva and Ajith after Vedhalam, Veeram and Vivegam. Apart from the Ajith and Nayanthara, it also features Vivek, Thambi Ramaiah, Yogi Babu, Bose Venkat and Kovai Sarala in pivotal roles. On the other hand, directed by Karthik Subbaraj, Petta features the ensemble star cast of Rajinikanth, Vijay Sethupathi, Trisha, Simran Bagga, Bobby Simha, Megha Akash, Sanath Reddy and Nawazuddin Siddiqi. As per the leading south portal Ananda Vikatan, the role of Rajinikanth will be the proper mix of a classy and massy hero. Interestingly, this will be Rajinikanth's third character as a don after Kabali and Kaala.
