Anupam Kher's The Accidental Prime Minister lands in trouble right after the trailer release - read details

The trailer of Anupam Kher starrer The Accidental Prime Minister released today and the hard-hitting promo impressed us to the core. Based on the life of former PM Dr Manmohar Singh, it is directed by debutant Vijay Ratnakar Gutte, while Hansal Mehta is the creative producer. While the promo received a positive response from the netizens, it soon landed in trouble as the Maharashtra Youth Congress wrote the letter to makers of the film demanding the screening of it.

The youth wing also added that they will tell the makers to delete the scenes, which are unfactual and if they didn't do that, they will stall the release of the film throughout the country. Now it will be interesting to see, what will be the reply of the makers to this letter. The film is based on a book by Sanjaya Baru, a former media advisor to Manmohan Singh. Akshaye Khanna features as Baru and Divya Seth Shah plays Manmohan Singh's wife Gursharan Kaur in the movie. ‘Happy Patel has a new edge to comedy and something that hasn't been done before in India,’ says Vir Das

Comedian-actor Vir Das, who is currently working on his next film titled "Happy Patel", says he is excited about it as it is "uniquely different and has a great sense of comedy".

Written by Vir, the film draws inspiration from Hollywood films "Austin Powers" and "Johnny English".

Actress Jasmin Bhasin has started meditating and practicing yoga for her role in the forthcoming show "Dil Toh Happy Hai Ji".

"This is the first time that an item song has been shot for a web show and I am excited to have got this opportunity," Scarlett said in a statement.

EXCLUSIVE! Supriya Pathak steps into Sheeba Chaddha's shoes for Ekta Kapoor's next ambitious project

TV czarina Ekta Kapoor has an interesting lineup of projects, not just on the small screen, but even on the digital medium. Her next is an ambitious project titled Cartel, which will stream on her digital platform. Slated to be a high-end gangster drama with a budget of around Rs 50 crore, the web-series already has a strong cast to boast about. Vivek Oberoi, Sandeepa Dhar, Gayatri Iyer, Ravi Kissen, Rithvik Dhanjani are leading the cast. There were reports of actress Sheeba Chaddha joining the cast. However, BollywoodLife has exclusively learnt that the actress is not anymore a part of the series. A reliable source informs us that due to unknown reasons, the actress is not going to be a part of the series which is loosely based on The Godfather series. Furthermore, the makers have also found a replacement for Chaddha.

BollywoodLife has learnt that the much talented Supriya Pathak, who has made everyone laugh with her role of Hansa Parekh from the Khichdi franchise, has been brought on board to play the character. "The role in contention is really powerful. It is of a lady who has much importance in society and has a gangster stature," a little birdie chirps in. Since Pathak has already played a vitriolic character in Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela for which she also won a Filmfare Award, she fit the bill for this one as well.

The actress will soon join the cast, as they are already filming for the series. Interestingly, Cartel will also be Pathak's digital debut.

Vivek recently also posted the first look of his character when the show went on the floor. Suhasini Mulay plays the head honcho of the family while Oberoi, Kissen and Dhanjani apparently play three brothers.

Lyricist Prashant Ingole of Malhari fame composes a song for ‘Bollywood Romeo’ Salman Khan on his birthday

Lyricist Prashant Ingole of "Malhari" fame has made his debut as a composer with a song dedicated to Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, who turned 53 on Thursday.

Ingole is known for writing lyrics of songs like "Party on my mind", "Ziddi dil" and "Malhari". And now, he has tried his hand at composing music.

"I was just thinking of Mr Salman Khan who has been entertaining us for so many decades. He is the perfect Romeo on screen. And this song ('Bollywood Romeo')... I was writing and the melody came up. I am not a composer, however, sometimes when I write, tunes flow," Ingole told IANS.

On the making of the song, he shared: "I spoke to my friend Abhijeet Nag and said 'Let's gift Mr Salman Khan this song on his birthday', and he agreed to do the video editing from the existing footage.

"At the same time, I met another friend, Harland Braver, and asked if he could produce/arrange the track. He said 'Yes'. The big magic was when I met Sherrin Varghese for some project. My friend wanted me to meet him and felt he could sing the song and he loved the idea. We recorded the song on the first meet which was a big coincidence. Then Utpal Das came on board to mix and master the song. So, all the magic supported my madness."

But he doesn't want to be a composer.

"This is just magic. If this magic persists, I may become a composer for sure," said Ingole, who recently made his directorial debut with a short movie titled "Buddh".

Lindsay Lohan’s step-mother arrested for the seventh time for drunk driving

Actress Lindsay Lohan's stepmother Kate Major is arrested for the seventh time in five years for DUI on a bus after attacking the driver and taking the wheel. Michael Lohan, 58, allegedly assaulted a bus driver and then drunkenly commandeered the vehicle, according to The Blast. Major was a passenger on a Beiber Tourways bus driving through Allentown, Pennsylvania, when she accused the bus driver of missing her spot, reports dailymail.co.uk. The former celebrity journalist was allegedly intoxicated at the time of the incident.

Major had been traveling by bus for the holidays. She told police that the bus driver had assaulted her after she got up to complain about the missed stop. The bus driver's account of the incident is starkly different. The driver claims that Major "became verbally abusive" after missing her stop and having to go on to the next town.

The bus driver says that she pulled at her coat until she managed to kick her off the bus, though the intoxicated woman made her way back on.

She then 'got into the driver's seat, and pushed various buttons, while appearing to want to move the bus,' according to the police report. "There were several passengers on the bus at this time and the bus engine was running. One passenger physically removed Lohan from the driver's seat at this time."

The police charged Major with public drunkenness, driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance, disorderly conduct and harassment. The troubled celebrity wife has been tailed by a string of arrests and domestic violence, with at least seven arrests in the last five years.

She was arrested earlier in 2018 for throwing a glass candle holder at her husband, Michael, who suffered a laceration to his arm. In 2017, she went on a racist and homophobic tirade after being taken into custody for a mental health evaluation.

She was arrested in 2016 for battery against a law enforcement officer. In 2015, Kate was arrested for scratching her husband Michael with her long acrylic nails. She has already spent time in prison for a 2014 DUI arrest.

Although it isn t surprising given that the end of his deal with the studio made headlines prior to the release of Avengers: Infinity War. However, discussion sprung up yet again this week and it has led Twitter breaking down. While many were quick to assume that Iron Man is dying in Avengers 4, others were just hoping Marvel renews the contract.

There are several theories suggesting that Tony Stark will die in the Avengers movie. The most popular theory suggests that Tony and Steve Rogers aka Captain America will die together. A Reddit user also pointed out that the makers gave away the superheroes deaths in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

We’ve heard about Christian Bale‘s extreme transformation for this film, but that’s not all that it has in store for you!

Kevin Hart to host New Year’s Eve weekend with rappers Fabolous, Lil Wayne and Big Sean - deets here

Comedian Kevin Hart is starting the new year with a new gig after stepping down as the Oscars' host.

The "Night School" actor, 39, is hosting a New Year's Eve weekend celebration at Drai's Nightclub, hereafter stepping down as the Oscars' host earlier this month, reports people.com.

The comedian will be joined by rappers Fabolous, Lil Wayne, and Big Sean to name a few. Hart shared the news in a video posted to his Instagram account on Wednesday.

"Oh my God! New Year's Eve weekend in Vegas at Drai's is going to be unreal. Unreal? I'm talking about one of the biggest and best lineups in the world," Hart said in the video.

"You got my man Fab, Lil Wayne, Big Sean. You got Future, the Countdown hosted by yours truly, Kevin Hart!"

He continued, "It's not going to be any bigger, it's not going to get any better. Come to Vegas, celebrate with us at Drai's. It is going down! Let's bring the New Year in right - let's bring it in with a smile, baby. We live, love and laugh. I'll see you soon."

Hart will be hosting three nights, Saturday through Monday.

In early December, Hart announced he would be hosting the 91st Academy Awards but he quickly received backlash after his previous homophobic tweets were resurfaced.

The "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle" star initially said he would not apologize for previous comments he had made but stepped down just hours later and delivered an apology.

The announcement came after Hart revealed in an Instagram video that the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences - which hosts the Oscars - had asked him to apologize. Something he said he refused to do.

Black Mirror: Bandersnatch trailer is going to make you rethink your New Year’s Eve plans

If you think Netflix was done with 2018, we have some news for you. The online streaming platform has dropped the trailer of Black Mirror: Bandersnatch and it could influence your weekend and maybe your New Year Eve s plans. The movie, which is a new offering from the sci-fi franchise, is set in the 1980s. The Black Mirror event follows the tale of Stefan (played by Fionn Whitehead), a young programmer who wishes to create a computer game inspired by a novel he was gifted as a child.

The trailer begins with Stefan discussing about strange and vivid dreams. The lead character is taking pills to control his thoughts. However, he decides to flush down the pills when he starts working on the game. As Stefan dives deep into his project, the madness unfolds, and the trailer shows Stefan going mad. "Your fate has been dictated you're not in control," says a woman on TV summing up the trippy trailer.

Apart from Fionn, Will Poulter, Craig Parkinson, Alice Lowe and Asim Chaudhry are a part of Black Mirror: Bandersnatch. The movie is directed by Black Mirror director David Slade so you could expect nothing less than brilliance from the movie.

Bandersnatch is set to premiere on December 28.

There have been reported doing the round that the Bandersnatch movie will be five-hour long. It is also rumoured that the movie will have an interactive, Choose Your Own Adventure-style element to it. We ll have to wait until this weekend to see how the movie will turn out to be.

[Video] Empire fame Terrence Howard proposal to ex-wife Mira Pak will make you believe in destiny

"Empire" star Terrence Howard has proposed to his former wife Mira Pak three years after their divorce.

The 49-year-old star took to Instagram on Tuesday to share that he proposed to Pak, sharing an image of her engagement ring and his touching speech about finding true love, reports usatoday.com.

"We have an idea of how long we think life is, but we do know how short it can be," he said in a video.

"It took me 45 years to find you," he said of Pak, whom he married in 2013.

Who doesn t remember the now viral photo featuring Hugh Jackman, Ryan Reynolds and Jake Gyllenhaal? No clue what we re talking about? We will give you a better context: Last week, a photo featuring the Wolverine actor, Deadpool actor and recently announced Mysterio actor got together to mark the holidays. A photo from their union featured Ryan wearing an ugly sweater. The picture went so viral that the Russo Brothers picked it up to troll Avengers: Endgame fans.

The directors of the Marvel movie changed their Twitter profile with the viral photo, only there was a twist to the picture. Instead of posting the picture as is, the duo edited the picture and trolled fans with it. The picture had Joe and Anthony written over Hugh and Jake whereas Ryan was dubbed as fans (ideally the Marvel fans).

Sonakshi Sinha says she would love to do a children's film

The new year has an exciting and eclectic slate of films lined up for Sonakshi Sinha, who says she would love to work in a movie aimed at entertaining children.

"I feel it is very crucial to keep the kids entertained in every household as it keeps them occupied and also aids them in learning new things. I hope to see more films which are made by keeping kids in mind as an audience and more engagement events to be held," Sonakshi told IANS via email.

The actress joined in a bit of kiddie fun in Mumbai earlier this month at the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards, which will be aired on Nickelodeon on January 6, 2019. Anything specific that she would like to do in the children's genre?

"I would love to. I do feel I have a very strong connection with kids, could be because we're on the same wavelength (laughs).

We all know about casting director Mukesh Chhabra making his debut as a director with Kizie Aur Manny. The film is a Hindi remake of Fault In Our Stars and the posters of the film were released earlier. The team was also shooting for the film but soon after, the director was accused of sexual harassment and he was suspended as the director of the film.

But now, Chhabra has been reinstated as the director of Kizie Aur Manny after all the allegations against him have been cleared.

A source said:

The ICC committee and the Federation of Western India Cine Employees didn’t find him guilty and he was soon reinstated as the director of Kizie aur Manny. His arbitrary suspension has been revoked. In fact, the FWICE even sent a letter citing non-observance of the provisions of POSH Act in the enquiry procedure that was conducted post anonymous sexual harassment complaints that were falsely levied on Mukesh. The filmmaker has been shooting the film for the last 2 weeks and will next travel to Paris in the first week of January for the next schedule of the film. Mukesh is back on the film and hasn’t let the ordeal affect his passion and zeal for the film. Kizie aur Manny is turning out well and everyone is happy to put the episode behind them and continue making this passion project.

Kizie aur Manny stars Sushant Singh Rajput and Sanjana Singh in the lead and is scheduled to release in 2019.

#Simmba: Initial reviews deem the Ranveer Singh-Rohit Shetty combination to be a ‘paisa vasool’ movie

It is D-day for Ranveer Singh as Simmba hits cinemas in less than 24 hours. The actor, who wowed everyone with his spine-chilling portrayal of Khilji in Padmaavat, has undergone a complete makeover to play a cop for the Rohit Shetty directorial releasing on December 28. The movie is a remake of the Telugu movie Temper, so there is bound to be comparisons. However, Simmba has managed to generate a lot of buzz over the past three weeks. The trailer has already garnered a good buzz. To top it off, the songs of the movie are also climbing up the music charts. There isn t a day when the radio or the clubs aren t playing Aankh Maarey.

While it has caught the fancy of those clubbing, we are yet to see if the movie catches the attention of masses. Judging by the initial reviews coming from UAE, Simmba has hit the bulls eye. Fans and critics have taken to Twitter to announce, Ala re ala, Ranveer ala as they spread a good word about the movie.

Khaleej Times gave the movie a whopping 4 stars and said that Ranveer shines in the movie. The review reads, Ranveer proves a complete package -- here's an actor who can dance like a dream, do action like a true star, crack jokes and, when the situation demands it, specially in the second half of the movie, turn serious. Shetty's tried and tested formula works well enough for 'Simmba' to keep us hooked to our seats. He even pulls in his favourite Ajay Devgn towards the end as Inspector Bajirao Singham in an extended cameo. And just when you think you've seen it all, Shetty manages to pull off a major coup at the end -- guess who's slated to don the police officer's uniform in 2019?

#Simmba: Treat for masala lovers! If you loved Singham kinda movies then you're definitely going to love Simmba. Ranveer Singh's combination of Masti & Policegiri works well. Simmba has flaws but mass audience never notices it. I will go with 3/5.

The story takes a set back, literally nothing happens for the first 45mins which is filled with jokes & gags to establish #RanveerSingh as the corrupt cop. This one is nothing close to Rohit's earlier dosage with Singham lineage but let's see what's in store next. #SimmbaReview
