Rs 13.32 crore! That's Shah Rukh Khan's most expensive purchase which now costs Rs 200 crore after 18 years

Shah Rukh Khan is one of the wealthiest actors in the world. So owning something that costs Rs 200 crore doesn't surprise us too much although it does things to our head when we realise the condition of our bank accounts. But he didn't pay Rs 200 crore to buy it. The actor only paid Rs 13.32 crore. We are talking about Mannat, the mecca of all SRK fans. The superstar bought this property on lease in 2001 and renamed it. In fact, SRK paid a one-time occupancy fee of Rs 8.3 crore. TBH, we kind of feel a bit better than Shah Rukh Khan paid rent before to live in Mannat just like us. He feels more relatable now.

Yes, Shah Rukh Khan pays the rent for staying in Mannat. As per a report in Housing.com, the actor bought the 2,446 sq. metre space in 2001. It was initially called Villa Vienna. He paid a minimal rent of Rs 2,325/year since then. But after the Mumbai government revised the land lease rates which gave the occupants the option to either cough up Rs 19 lakh/year for 30 years or go for one-time occupancy fee of Rs 8.3 crore, things changed. Hindustan Times reported that SRK chose to pay the occupancy fee. Speaking about his most expensive buy, the actor had said, "I am from Delhi and Delhiites have the concept of living in a kothi (bungalow). In Mumbai, the concept is to live in apartments, but in Delhi, even if one is not well off, they still own a small bungalow."

Now that's a lot of information to digest!

Ahead of the season finale of Imperfect, Anand Tiwari opens up on his imperfections

Actor Anand Tiwari, who will be seen in a cameo in the finale of "Imperfect" -- a series he has produced -- says he does not believe in perfection.

"I don't really believe in perfection. Life is (about) continuous learning. Out of the many things I am imperfect at I wish to believe that I'm imperfect, especially when it comes to relationships, and maybe that is why one would see us writing about complex love stories," Anand told IANS via email. He said he is also imperfect at remembering names.

"I tend to forget names very easily. I can speak to a person with all confidence while calling him/her with a wrong name. My resolution for 2019 is to remember names and to rightly address everyone I come across," added the actor.

Zoom Studios' original show "Imperfect" is a story of Isha, a young woman who finds herself at the receiving end of life after losing her job and the man of her dreams. The story unfolds with Isha being guided by a life coach, learning to love and value herself.

Anand is really excited about his cameo in the show as his character is an integral addition in Isha's journey of finding perfection.

"After all her learning through the trials and tribulations she has gone through, this character helps her put that to practice and find the true meaning of perfection! It's a fun role.

"It's always exciting to face the camera but it's extra special as this project is very close to our heart. I loved being directed by Ruchi Joshi and Vidhi Gulati, my second instance of being directed by a duo director after 'Go Goa Gone'.

Anand, who has produced the show with Amritpal Singh Bindra, said they knew the show will resonate with a large set of audience across the board. The finale will go live on Thursday.

Thalapathy Vijay to play a football coach in Atlee's next?

Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay's last venture Sarkar shattered many records at the ticket windows and crossed the Rs 200 crore mark at the box office. Soon after the release, the megastar announced that he is collaborating for the third time with director Atlee after Theri and Mersal. There were reports which suggested that the untitled venture will be a sports film based on football and now the latest development states that Vijay will essay the character of a coach in the film. Apparently, the makers have taken on board 16 newcomer girls to essay football players in the film.

Since #Thalapathy63 is a Sports based film, 16 newcomer gals are being cast to play the sports team members..

As the director and actor jodi has previously delivered two blockbusters (Theri and Mersal), we are expecting them to complete their hattrick with this film. Thalapathy Vijay's 2017's blockbuster Mersal will release in China in 2019 and will be the first Tamil film, which will cater to the Chinese audience. Mersal, which starred Kajal Aggarwal, Samantha Akkineni and Nithya Menen in pivotal roles, was the first film of Thalapathy Vijay to cross the Rs 200 crore mark at the global box office. Ever since Ranbir Kapoor confirmed that he was dating Alia Bhatt, we all have not been able to keep calm. Where we saw Ranbir talk about his relationship and say that “it needed time to breathe and it needed space”, Alia has always maintained her silence on it. Recently, in an interview with Hindustan Times, she opened up on her relationship with Ranbir. Alia said that she was immune to all the talks about Ranbir and her relation.

She further said:

There was too much (focus) on the personal life, and honestly, I have never had my personal life getting spoken about so much. Earlier, these talks were very upar upar se but this year, it suddenly became all about that. Such talks don’t bother me, but I don’t like talking about it is because somehow, it then diverts all the attention, and that’s what it all becomes about.

She also said that her relationship is not an achievement but it is a very important part of her life.

Alia said:

It is just a part – and a very important part – of my life. It’s seamless as well as beautiful and should be celebrated when it has to be. Right now, it should just be left on its own and kind of kept in a corner where it can stay safe and warm. You can say that it’s like a cat in my life that I want to protect, and it’s not ready to come on social media the way Edward (her cat) has.

We totally understand why Alia doesn’t want her relationship to be a part of the social media madness.

5 Beauty Habits To Break This Year

Can you believe that 2019 is already here? Usually, at the beginning of the year, I make a list of resolutions that I aim to follow. Instead of going through the same routine this year, I decided to note down all the bad beauty habits that I intend to break over the next 365 days. If you are guilty of any of the following, consider hopping on the bandwagon and nixing these habits once and for all.

1. Sleeping With Makeup On

I know that it’s tempting to head straight for bed after a tiring day at work. However, sleeping with your makeup on can lead to a host of skin issues such as clogged pores, breakouts and eye infections. If you just don’t have the strength to go through a proper cleansing routine, arm your bedside table with makeup wipes or micellar water so that you can get rid of all the grime and residue.

2. Using Sunscreen Only During Summer

Whilst I am trying to be more diligent about my sunscreen use, I do slip up and forget every now and then. The truth is that you need to protect your skin every single day – whether it’s cloudy, sunny or rainy outside. Most of us avoid using sunscreens because of their chalky and thick formula. However, the beauty industry has really evolved over the past few years to create products that leave a matte, invisible finish. So, we really don’t have an excuse any more!

3. Being Lazy About Cleaning Makeup Brushes

Playing around with makeup is a ton of fun… but cleaning up later isn’t. Unfortunately, using dirty brushes and sponges can really mess with your skin. From acne flare-ups to more serious skin infections, the problems that come with using unwashed tools are aplenty. I plan on giving my brushes a thorough cleanse once every week.

4. Picking At Zits

Speaking of acne, it’s definitely time to stop picking at your pimples! Not only does it cause the bacteria to spread, but also leaves behind stubborn scars and pigmentation. Instead of prodding and poking at my blemishes, I’m going to treat them with the right products.

5. Neglecting The Mane

In my constant quest for clear and dewy skin, I tend to forget about my hair. Since our manes are subjected to hot tools, dyes and styling products, it’s imperative to give them a little TLC too. Weekly masks and scalp treatments will go a long way in replenishing the health of your strands.

Box office collections of Yash's KGF witness a solid boost on the New Year

Yash and Srinidhi Shetty starrer KGF continued its victory march at the box office on January 1. Despite facing stiff competition from Ranveer Singh's Simmba and having very limited screens, the Kannada period thriller remained rock steady at the ticket windows and witnessed good growth on the new year day. The film raked in Rs 2.25 crore and now stands at the grand total of Rs 30.45 crore.

Since there are no releases this Friday, we expect KGF to hold well and end its theatrical run around Rs 40 crore at the ticket windows. Despite being a Kannada film, it struck a chord with the audience due to its riveting content. "As long as the story is engaging, there will be some emotional connect to it. As long as the film connects with you, emotionally identifies with you, I don't think language would be a barrier," said Ritesh Sidhwani from Excel Entertainment, who presented the Hindi version. The film has received rave reviews from the cine-goers, which has helped KGF to remain consistent at the domestic market. Engrossing content, super production values and an interesting premise for chapter two makes this a tantalising gangster flick."

Andrew Brady on the split from Caroline Flack: I lost my spark and my confidence - view post

Andrew Brady, the former fiance of TV personality Caroline Flack, is moving to Australia for a new start as he feels that his separation from Flack has left him "insecure" and "hating himself".

On New Year's Eve, Brady posted a note explaining how the last 12-months have had a negative impact on his mental health since his separation from Flack, reports dailymail.co.uk.

"I have learned how much punishment the human mind, heart, and body can take, I have felt guilty for things I never even considered someone should feel guilty for and I forgot who I was. I learned to hate myself for things that I should love. I lost my spark and my confidence," he said in the note posted on Instagram.

David Dhawan recalls working with Kader Khan says ‘he contributed a lot to my journey’

Filmmaker David Dhawan Tuesday remembered veteran writer-actor Kader Khan as the "king of writing emotions" and a performer who believed in improvisation. Khan and Dhawan delivered some of the biggest hits of the '90s and early 2000s including "Shola Aur Shabnam", "Hero No 1", "Coolie No 1", "Aunty No 1", "Haseena Maan Jayegi" and "Mujhse Shaadi Karogi" among numerous others.

"He has done such great work. He was a fine writer and an actor as well. He played his innings very well. I have enjoyed working with him. He was so talented," Dhawan told PTI.

Khan passed away Monday evening after a prolonged illness in Toronto, Canada, where he was hospitalised. He was 81. Recalling his first meeting with Khan during the making of "Bol Radha Bol" in 1992, the director said the actor-writer was professional par excellence.

"I remember going and meeting him first in 1992 during 'Bol Radha Bol' and he was such a big star then. When he used to hear the story and discuss scenes he was so professional and humble. He used to give suggestions and improvise a lot. He contributed a lot to my journey," he added.

Dhawan said as a writer Khan had the flair of penning emotional and dramatic sequences.

"I remember when I used to get stuck with a scene, he would write the scene and perform it spectacularly. He used to write lovely lines, especially for emotional and dramatic scenes. He was the king of writing emotions." The director said, even though people in the film industry loved Khan, he never got the credit he deserved.

"...He has played great innings and I salute him. I feel the credit he should have got, he did not get. Film industry people have always loved him. He used to believe in enjoying his work to the fullest," he said.

Dhawan's son, actor Varun also paid homage to Khan saying his contribution to his father's cinema was "limitless".

"RIP Kader Khan Saab. One of my inspirations and a truly iconic actor, writer and stage artist. His contribution to my father's cinema was limitless just like his talent. You will truly be missed by everyone," he wrote on Twitter.

Celebrated filmmaker Mrinal Sen cremated at Kolkata

Celebrated filmmaker Mrinal Sen, the last of the triumvirate of directing icons, Satyajit Ray and Ritwik Ghatak, was cremated here on Tuesday in the presence of eminent film personalities. Sen's funeral took place after the arrival of his son Kunal from Chicago on Tuesday early morning.

His mortal remains were moved from Peace World mortuary to Keoratala crematorium. The procession was a low key affair as desired by the filmmaker, his son, who addressed him as 'bondhu' (friend), said.

"Bondhu (Sen) had often told me there should not be any hype surrounding his death. He had asked me to see wreaths don't pile up on his body and it is not kept in any of the state-run cultural complexes like 'Nandan' or 'Rabindra Sadan'. He had said that he hated such things," Kunal said.

Actor-director Anjan Dutt, who was introduced in movies by Sen with "Chaalchitra" in 1981, actor Ranjit Mallick, who made a debut in Bengali cinema with Sen's "Interview", Ray's son, director Sandi Ray, Sen's favourite actor Sreela Majumder, veteran actor Madhabi Mukhopadhyay, director Aparna Sen and Bengali superstar Prosenjit Chatterjee attended the last rites.

Actor Nandita Das was also present along with CPI(M) leaders Biman Bose, Sujan Chakraborty, and others.

Sen had breathed his last at his Bhawanipore residence on Sunday after a prolonged battle with age-related ailments. He was 95.

The auteur, who started the new wave of Indian cinema with "Bhuvan Shome" released in 1969, was one of the most acclaimed filmmakers of the country and had brought recognition to the country's film industry on international platforms.

His 1982 Bengali film "Kharij" had won the jury prize at the 1983 Cannes Film Festival.

When Remo D’Souza‘s dance film starring Varun Dhawan and Katrina Kaif was announced, we were already excited about it. But recently, we came across reports which stated that Katrina had to back out of the film. The makers are now on the hunt for the lead actress and have shortlisted a few actresses to star opposite Varun. As per a report in Mid-Day, Jacqueline Fernandez and Kriti Sanon were being considered for the role but the makers were more keen on having Shraddha Kapoor on board. However, a report in DNA now suggests that Sara Ali Khan is also being considered for the role.

With Shraddha on board, it would be a reunion of the ABCD 2 trio, along with Varun and Remo. They have an equation and that would help in their collaborating on another dance flick. The other strong contender for the role is Sara Ali Khan. She has proved her acting chops in Kedarnath and has been appreciated in Simmba too. Signing her would also mean a fresh new onscreen pair. And Varun and Sara together are bound to generate tremendous buzz for this dance movie. So yes, the makers are definitely looking at the advantage of casting Sara for the film.

'I will never flatter anyone for a Padma Shri award,' said Kader Khan in his last interview

As the news of actor-writer Kader Khan s death came in, his fans dug up an old interview on Twitter in which he spoke about never having received a Padma award in his life. It was perhaps his last interview as he promoted his film Dimag Ka Dahi and the actor was not in good health. During the interview, Khan had acknowledged his fans and Bollywood colleagues who had proposed his name for a Padma Shri award a year ago. If the government feels that I have done good work, it will honour me. It s people s love that they are demanding it for me, Khan had said then.

However, speaking in 2016, he said after knowing the names of the awardees, it s good that I did not get one . The ever-versatile actor also hinted that flattering the movers and shakers could be one of the reasons behind his colleagues getting the honour. On being told the names of the industry colleagues who had won Padma awards, he had said, ... it s good that they did not give me a Padma Shri. I have neither flattered anyone in my life, nor will I ever. I don t want these awards if they have been given to people (in the industry) who got it this time.

Kader Khan had added, An award is a no big thing, but its importance lies in the people it has been conferred upon. Earlier, there was a certain honesty in these awards but it s not the same case now. People have now forgotten to respect others and have become way too selfish. I would think that I was not as capable as those who were chosen for the Padma awards this year. I, however, thank all those who proposed my name for it.

Khan had also urged his Bollywood colleagues from indulging in politics. I would like to urge all the actors to return from the politics. Laut aao, politics tumhari manzil nahi hai (Come back, politics is not your destination). It is only breaking you.

Bollywood actor-director-writer-comedian and a Quranic scholar, Khan died after a prolonged illness at a hospital in Toronto in Canada. He is survived by his wife Hajra, son Sarfaraz, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren. His last rites will be held in a Toronto cemetery later in the day.

From baking a cake for beau Ranbir Kapoor on his birthday to standing beside him at the time when he lost his grandmother, the actress has spared no efforts in making her love speak for itself. Not just that, Alia, who is currently juggling between the shoot of two big-budget dramas Kalank and Brahmastra, had even flown down to New York to support Ranbir, as an ailing Rishi Kapoor underwent treatment in the city. In fact, as we had reported, the duo also ringed the new year in the New York with the entire squad including RK's sister Ridhimma Kapoor and her family. Pictures of the shenanigans of the same are everywhere and honestly, they look adorable together. Even mom Neetu Kapoor had taken to Instagram to pen a very heartfelt post along with a group picture that hinted that the veteran star is suffering from cancer. Her caption read, "Happy 2019 ? no resolutions only wishes this year !!! Less pollution traffic!! Hope in future cancer is only a zodiac sign !!! Even fans, in the comments, couldn't stop gushing about the lovebirds and wishing for a speedy recovery for Rishi Kapoor. Earlier, Neetu Kapoor and Soni Razdan had met and a lot was discussed over desserts. An insider told us, wedding dates were the topic of discussion and they are looking at 2020. Another source had told us, "Alia is in a great phase of her life right now. She is in love and they both are sure of each other. Marriage is certainly on the cards but it won't happen before 2020." Well, well, 2020 is sooner than we expected so, we aren't really complaining!
