Fans of Suriya Sivakumar have long waited to hear an update about NGK which is being directed by Selvaraghavan. The film was initially slated to be released during Diwali clashing straight with Thalapathy Vijay's Sarkar. However, the makers deferred the date which made fans unhappy. Since Diwali, fans have been eagerly waiting to hear about NGK but nothing was being revealed by the makers. But now fans can breathe a sigh of relief as NGK has finally got a release date, avoiding any clashes with any upcoming big-ticket films in Tamil. The film will now be released on April 14, 2018 which is the Tamil New Year's Day and is considered to be an auspicious one. NGK is currently in the final schedule of its shoot and is heading towards a wrap which is expected to happen before the end of year. This piece of news will be a huge reason for fans to be elated and begin celebrations.

The film stars Suriya in a rebellious role which is evident from the posters revealed by the makers so far. Besides Suriya, NGK also stars Rakul Preet Singh and Sai Pallavi as the leading ladies. It is the first time that Suriya and director Selvaraghavan are collaborating and it will be interesting to see what the duo present to their audience. The music of NGK is being composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja who has, in the past, delivered hit numbers for many Suriya films.
