After winning audiences hearts and box office with his recent political action-thriller outing Sarkar, Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay is all set to kick-start the shooting of his 63rd project with director Atlee. As per the latest reports, the film will go on floors post Pongal holidays and the first schedule will begin from January 21 in Chennai. Apparently, Vijay will essay the character of a coach in the film and the makers have taken on board 16 newcomer girls to essay football players in the film.

The film marks the third collaboration between Atlee and Vijay after Theri and Mersal. Thalapathy Vijay's 2017's blockbuster Mersal will release in China in 2019 and will be the first Tamil film, which will cater to the Chinese audience. Mersal, which starred Kajal Aggarwal, Samantha Akkineni and Nithya Menen in pivotal roles, was the first film of Thalapathy Vijay to cross the Rs 200 crore mark at the global box office.
The untitled venture will be bankrolled by AGS productions. The makers are planning to release the film on festive weekend of Diwali this year.
