Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas exchanged their vows and rings in a Christian wedding that took place on Saturday, December 1, at the Umaid Bhavan Palace in Jodhpur. While we are yet to get to know more about everything that happened at the wedding, we re getting to hear something that we had previously speculated. A couple of days ago, we had speculated that Priyanka could be handed over to Nick at the alter by Nick s father Papa Jonas aka Paul Kevin Jonas.
Turns out, we were right. The buzz is doing the rounds that the actress, like her royal best friend Meghan Markle, walked down to the aisle with Papa Jonas holding her hand. As per Christian traditions, the bride s father walks her down and hands her over to the groom. Unfortunately, Priyanka s father had passed away in 2013 following his battle with cancer, Paul stepped up and did the honours. This brings back memories of the royal wedding which took place in May this year.
Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, was handed over to Prince Harry at the wedding by Prince Charles because Meghan s father, Thomas Markle, couldn t be present at the wedding. What a d j vu moment it must have been at the Umaid Bhavan Palace.
That s not all. Vogue also reported recently that Paul was officiating the Christian wedding.
Priyanka and Nick are tying the knot in a Christian wedding style followed by walking around the holy fire to marry in a traditional Indian style wedding ceremony.
