Subaskaran's Lyca Productions deserves a credit for backing a project like 2.o and mounting it on a huge scale with the whopping budget of Rs 600 crore. The sci-fi venture has released today and has received a thunderous response at the box office. Looking at the current scenario, we are expecting the magnum opus to become the biggest hit of the year. Now, as per the latest reports, it seems that the production house has liked the dedication of Rajinikanth as they are planning to collaborate again with Thalaivar for the upcoming project.
The untitled venture will be directed by AR Murugadoss, who is known for directing films like Ghajini, Holiday, Thupakki, Sarkar and many more. The film is expected to be a fantasy action-thriller and since it marks the first collaboration between the director and actor, we are already hoping the film to be a blockbuster. On the professional front, Rajinikanth will be nexr seen in Petta, Talking about the film, it is shot in Dehradun, Chennai and Lucknow. It features the ensemble star cast of Vijay Sethupathi, Trisha, Simran Bagga, Bobby Simha, Megha Akash, Sanath Reddy and Nawazuddin Siddiqi. As per the leading south portal Ananda Vikatan, the role of the superstar will be the proper mix of a classy and massy hero. He will be a hostel warden in the day but a dreaded don in the night. Interestingly, this will be Rajinikanth's third character as a don after Kabali and Kaala. It will have three action sequences which will definitely be a huge treat for the Thalaivar fans. The film will lock horns with Thala Ajith's Viswasam at the box office.
