Being a visionary is one thing but making that vision alive and bringing it to life is a different story. Shankar s 2.0 is the biggest game changer of 2018. A film that stars superstar Rajini and Akshay Kumar in a never before conceptualised negative role, 2.0 is an experience to be watched in 3D. The plot is simple. There is a negative force who has captured all the mobile phones of a town. No one knows how and why this is happening. The opening scene with Akshay, who is called Pakshi Raja in the film, sets the tone on the scale of visuals to expect. Once Chitti enters the frame, the action and madness scales up to a new level. Unlike Robot, Shankar doesn t spend much time in building up the tempo. The action scene with Chitti and the mobile bird monster is outstanding. Amy Jackson plays Chitti s sidekick robot. The visual effects are extraordinary and Rajinikanth aces the game once again with his superstardom. The beauty of the film lies in the unthinkable. What next is what you keep thinking through the first half. There is very little Akshay Kumar before the interval sets in. But the film takes a break with a visual of Akshay s menacing face. The second half will now see a face off between Akshay and Rajinikanth. We loved the first half of 2.0 and hopefully the second half only makes it better!
