The D-day is here and 2.0 has hit the big screens amidst celebrations and galore of madness. This Rajinikanth-starrer film is smashing all records set by other films in all the three languages and is turning out to an all-time blockbuster. The first day collections of the film are predicted to be anywhere between Rs 20-25 crore for the Hindi version alone and the Tamil one is expected to be twice those numbers. According to trade experts, 2.0 may clock in anywhere between Rs 30-35 crore for the Tamil and Rs 10-15 crore for the Telugu version. All the three languages put together, 2.0 is expected to rake in anywhere between Rs 60-75 crore overall. And going by the occupancy across cinema halls in India and overseas, 2.0 may well go past this number and smash records set by films like Baahubali and Dangal. The first reviews of 2.0 and the audience s response is only helping the occupancy go up in cinema halls which will only amplify the collections of the film.

Directed by Shankar, 2.0 is a sequel to the 2010 film Enthiran which starred Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai in lead roles. Enthiran was dubbed into Hindi as Robot and the film did great business at the box office. The film stars Akshay Kumar in an interesting role and his look in the film has been catching all the attention. This magnum opus will mark the debut of the Bollywood star in Tamil cinema.
