Vicky Kaushal's war-drama Uri: The Surgical Strike has finally released in the theatres today and has received a fair start at the box office. But the Aditya Dhar directorial which also stars Yami Gautam in the lead role is getting the Raazi actor all his due for Major Vihaan Shergill and his powerful performance in the gripping tale which is based on the Uri attack of 2016. In fact, his steady and consistent trail at the ticket windows speaks volumes about his craft and the body of work he is trying to build.
In fact, the Bollywood heartthrob had jetted off to Mumbai yesterday--along with biggies like Karan Johar, Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Ayushmann and Khurrana more--to meet PM Narendra Modi to discuss the future of cinema. But that wasn't even the best part. It all turned interesting when the entire gang, on their way back gave a big shoutout for Uri in a classic filmy style. When Vicky asked 'How's the josh?' the team went 'High sir!' and the energy is infectious. Watch the video here.
Isn't it the sweetest thing? Earlier, Vicky told IANS, "In a short span of my career, Uri has been the most physically demanding film for me. We have worked really hard to make that film. It was really nice experience to work in the film." So, are you planning to watch the film this weekend? Let us know, tweet to us @bollywood_life!
