Ranveer Singh is having the time of his life! The last year has proven swell for him and not just because he got married to the girl of his dreams, Deepika Padukone but also because he was able to deliver back-to-back hits with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus Padmaavat and now, Rohit Shetty's masala cop actioner Simmba which has legit opened up an avalanche of praises for him. Peeps out there are calling it the era of Ranveer Singh and we have no qualms about it. How can we? There are big numbers of the trade doing the talking for him and we are about to show you just how.
The actor is on a different high as the collective business of both his movies has touched and gone above the 500 crore mark. You heard that right, even trade expert Taran Adarsh recently took to Twitter and tipped the hat, he wrote, "2018 was a momentous year for Ranveer Singh, professionally... The year began with #Padmaavat [crossed 300 cr] and concluded with #Simmba [crossed 200 cr, still running]... Like they say, ... Two solid BLOCKBUSTERS in one year!"

If you ask about the specifics, Padmaavat wherein Ranveer played the menacing Khilji went on to amass Rs 302.15 crore at the box-office, and Simmba has collected Rs 202.83 crore so far. Which rounds it upto Rs 504.98 crore in a year alone! Hear the claps? We do too! Interestingly enough, he has joined Salman Khan who was the only actor to have hit the 500 crore mark back in 2015 with Bajrangi Bhaijaan (Rs 320.34 crore) and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (Rs 210.16 crore). Up until now, of course.
Say what you may, Simmba's success proves that Ranveer Singh truly is the future of Bollywood. His movies have managed to do things at the box office which were till recently associated just with the three Khans. Getting Rs 200 crore and Rs 300 crore films so early in his career surely is a huge high and Bollywood is certainly in the right hands right now.
