It's going to be a gala this week at the movies with multiple releases lined up for Friday, December 21. While Zero is considered to be the big fish in Bollywood, this Shah Rukh Khan-starrer has competition from South in the form of KGF, Maari 2, Antariksham and Seethakaathi. Trade experts predict that the fight out at the box office will be a ruthless one and it will be tougher to predict which one would emerge the winner. Although the film industries would want all the films do well, looking at the scheme of things from a larger perspective, there will always be a race amongst the releases and this Friday will be the biggest clash of the year.
Expectations are riding high on SRK's Zero since it is the actor s first attempt at playing a dwarf in his illustrious career. Directed by Aanand L Raai, the film also stars Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif in key roles. Clashing with Zero in Bollywood is Yash-starrer KGF which will have a multi-lingual release with the film hitting the screens in Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi simultaneously which implies that the project will have a larger market to target.

Joining KGF in the race is the Tamil movie Maari 2 which features Dhanush and Sai Pallavi in the lead roles and is directed by Balaji Mohan. At a recent press conference, Dhanush had said that Maari 2 is a commercial entertainer and has all the massy elements for fans to relish. That gives fans another reason to prefer the film over other films.

Giving company to these three biggies is the Telugu film Antariksham 9000 KMPH which features Varun Tej, Aditi Rao Hydari and Lavanya Tripathi in lead roles. Directed by Sankalp Reddy, Antariksham is touted to be the first ever film based on space in Telugu. The trailer of the movie has garnered enough attention from movie-buffs who are rooting for it.

Zero is, reportedly, made on a huge budget and understandably so, since it involves huge VFX works, meaning that the film will be reeling to earn huge collections at the ticket window. KGF too has been made on a massive budget and has the pressure of raking in the moolah to make it a profitable venture.
