Vikrant Massey has been confirmed to play the lead opposite Deepika Padukone in Meghna Gulzar's Chhapaak. The film is based on acid attack survivor, Lakshmi Agarwal. The Mirzapur actor is playing the role of Alok Dixit, the journalist/social activist, who falls in love with her. Honestly, we were super stoked to know that Vikrant has been cast in the film. He is a fab actor, who has made a following for himself by delivering incredible performances in films like Lootera, A Death In The Gunj, Dil Dhadakne Do, and many more. Turns out he too is super glad to be part of the film.
Speaking to us, Vikrant reveals a bit about the role that he plays in the film. He says, "I am glad that Meghnaji (Meghna Gulzar) and Deepika have chosen me. I play Alok Dixit in the film. He has been instrumental in Lakshmi's life. It's his involvement in her life and the journey together. I am still in Lucknow and coming back tomorrow. The larger idea is what matters to us. You know it is about an acid attack survivor, how she, along with Alok, overcomes all the troubles that she goes through. We haven't gotten into full-time preparation yet. And everyone knows about Lakshmi."
Lakshmi and Alok get into a live-in relationship and even have a kid later. But they break up a few months after their daughter is born. When asked if separation will be part of the narrative, Vikrant reveals, "I think we should wait for the film to know that."
