This week will witness the release of as many as eight films in Tamil along with the big-ticket Bollywood film Zero starring Shah Rukh Khan. Exhibitors and distributors may find it tough to balance it out in playing the monetarily prospective films amongst such a huge list. And despite such huge competition, Zero has managed to grab a huge count of screens in Chennai, turning out to be the biggest release for a Bollywood film ever in the city.
The movie has managed to grab 67 screens in Chennai which includes multiplexes and single screens as well, and is locking horns with films like Maari 2, Seethakaathi and Adanga Maaru in Chennai. This goes on to show the kind of market an SRK film has in Chennai. Zero also gets a huge release in other metro cities like Bengaluru and Hyderabad and will be clashing with Antariksham and KGF. And these metro cities too have a huge market for Bollywood films going by the history. Overall, Zero is turning out to be a huge competition for films in Tamil and Telugu down south and it will be interesting to see how it fares at the box office.

Directed by Aanand L Raai, Zero will have Shah Rukh playing a dwarf and it is the first time the actor will be seen playing such a role in his career. Besides SRK, the film also stars Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif as the leading ladies.
