In yet another shocking revelation in the #MeToo movement, a female crew member of Sanju accused Rajkumar Hirani of sexual misconduct while working on the film. The director has however denied all allegations, as reported by Huffington Post. As per the online portal, the woman accused the filmmaker of sexually abusing her 'on more than one occasion over a six-month period between March and September 2018'. The woman had sent an email to Vidhu Vinod Chopra marking his wife Anupama Chopra and Abhijat Joshi on it. She mentioned that on April 19, 2018, Hirani made a suggestive comment and later sexually abused her in his home office.
The women had narrated what she had told Hirani that day in the email. She writes, I remember forming these words on my lips - Sir. This is wrong...Because of this power structure. You being the absolute power and me being a mere assistant, a nobody - I will never be able to express myself to you. Hirani's lawyer Anand Desai categorically denied the allegations in an email to the website, saying, "At the outset, our client states that the allegations made against him are false, mischievous, scandalous, motivated and defamatory." When the portal contacted Hirani last December he didn't answer their questions but just sent them printouts of texts and messages and emails exchanged between the two. The lawyer had further added, "These communications establish that the allegations made against our client to you, that have given rise to your queries, are false and completely unjustified."
Is that why there was no mention of Rajkumar Hirani on the posters of Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga.
