It's been two months since Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone got married and till date, the two are going strong. Which proves that they are made for each other. Despite that, one question has been bothering many people a lot, which is whether Deepika will add 'Singh' to her name or not. In her first interview post marriage, the actress had joked that in her case it would be- Deepika Padukone- wife of Ranveer Singh Padukone. Turns out, the Chennai Express actress never had a conversation about the same with her husband in real.
Recently, in interaction with Hindustan, when she DP was asked about her statement and whether her husband is really planning to change his surname, she said, "It's not true. In fact, after that interview, I realised that it's a conversation that Ranveer and I have never even had. So we haven't been like 'oh so do you think you need to change your surname?' That (chat about it in an interview) was, of course, a joke of sorts. It has never crossed either of our minds. When I was asked I was like 'oh, we haven't even thought about it.' Maybe, because it's not important. Also, I've worked extremely hard to create my identity and so has he. So my question is, 'why would he have to do that?' I think what people see of us is a very minuscule part of our entire being and existence. But at the core of it, we are very alike."
We think this brings an end to all the speculations around the topic of Deepika changing her name post marriage. After all, it is love that matters at the end of the day, isn't it?
