While we were expecting Tamil and Telugu versions of 2.0 to break all box office records, the collections of Hindi version has also surprised us bug time. Despite releasing on a normal working day, the magnum opus opened with great occupancy in the morning shows and with the help of positive word of mouth, the footfalls in the evening and night shows picked up rapidly. As per the early estimates, 2.0 has raked in over Rs 20 crore in its Hindi version on its opening day. The numbers are extraordinary and we surely expect a substantial growth over the weekend for the film at the ticket windows.
The film has already become the biggest opener at the Chennai box office beating Thalapathy Vijay's Sarkar. In Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka, 2.0 has set new benchmarks at the ticket windows. 2.0 has already surpassed the lifetime business of its prequel, Robot (Hindi) on the first day itself. The first part had collected Rs 20 crore during its theatrical run. Honestly, we are assuming the film to become the next Baahubali of the Indian cinema, but only audience has the power to make it that. With rave reviews, coming in for the film, we are sure that it will witness a huge growth over its extended weekend of four days. Karan Johar is presenting the Hindi version of 2.0 under his banner Dharma Productions. Apparently, it is the first Indian film, which is entirely shot in 3D. Produced under the banner of Lyca Productions, the film also stars Amy Jackson, Adil Hussain and Sudhanshu Pandey in pivotal roles. With 10500 screens globally, it is widest Indian release ever.
