As the year end draws closer, Vinod Chopra Films in association with Fox Star Studios rolled out the red carpet and revealed the trailer of Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga. After giving us glimpses of the 2019 release via posters, we finally have the trailer of the Shelly Chopra Dhar directorial and it seems rather interesting. The film features Sonam Kapoor in the lead alongside Anil Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao. This is Anil and Sonam s first onscreen collaboration.
The trailer starts off with a young Sweety (played by Sonam) dreaming of getting married one day. As she grows older, her family begin to find her eligible men. A writer, played by Rajkummar, falls in love with Sweety whereas Sweety s brother finds a match from a matrimonial site.
Tired of the numerous alliances brought to her, Sweety breaks down to reveal a secret a secret that wouldn t be accepted by the society. It is to see how Sweety tackles the situation and manages to not win over her family.
Watching Sonam don Sweety s role, we couldn t help but remember those days when we saw her play a de-glammed version of herself in Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. Anil donning the typical Punjabi father s hat looked like the role was written keeping him in mind. His quirky chemistry with Juhi took us back to the 1990s.
The trailer being set against the background of Gud Naal Ishq Mitha has got our hopes high that this would soon become the ultimate wedding song of 2019. Meanwhile, the end of the trailer holds the real story behind the movie. We re going to let you watch it and decode it for yourself.
