After going through a lot of trouble and change in release dates, Sushant Singh Rajput and debutante Sara Ali Khan's Kedarnath is finally releasing this Friday at the box office. Talking about the trailer, it has been well-received by the audience. In fact, the songs are already quite popular. While the romantic drama will entirely depend on a good word-of-mouth and positive reviews to earn big at the ticket windows, it has already garnered quite a buzz.
Talking about its first day collection, we are expecting the film to open to around Rs 5 to Rs 6 crore at the box office. Well, the numbers are not great but honestly, it will be an encouraging start. The film is primarily targeted towards the multiplex audience in metro cities, so if it strikes a chord there, it has chance to get a good boost at the box office, since multiplex tickets are costlier as compared to single screens. But not to forget that the film will face stiff competition from Akshay Kumar and Rajinikanth-starrer 2.0, which is setting new benchmarks at the ticket windows. Apart from 2.0, Hollywood release Mortal Engines, which is clashing with Kedarnath, also has the potential to hamper the collections of this pilgrimage love story. Honestly, Kedarnath is very crucial for the lead star SSR since his last venture Raabta was a box office disaster.
