The past year was undeniably great for Ranveer Singh. He was applauded tremendously for his role as Khilji in Padmaavat in the beginning of 2018 and then ended the year with a bang in and as Simmba. (And of course, he got married to Deepika Padukone.)
Looks like the bundle of energy is going to sweep away all the accolades in the Best Actor category the coming awards’ season. However, the journey that led up to this year was obviously not an easy one. We all know Ranveer is an outsider with no industry godfather and must have earned a place for himself in B-town after a fair share of struggles. As Simmba gears up to enter the 300 Crores club, Ranveer recalls his fairytale journey.
He told PTI:
I had a proper struggle period of three and half years, so today when opportunities come my way, I value them tremendously. I never lose sight because I have a vivid memory of the times when I had none of this.
He further said:
This one kid, out of nowhere, had a dream and he’s now living it. Everyday my heart is filled with gratitude. I pray before I go to work and always say thank you because I value it. It is surreal what is happening with me, or around me. This love keeps me grounded and humbled. When fans ask me to get clicked with them, what I am actually thinking is, “What? Me? Do they really want to be clicked with me!”
Yes, they really do want to get clicked with you, Ranveer. You are a superstar, and you deserve all the stardom.
