Prithviraj Sukumaran will make his debut as director with Lucifer which stars Mohanlal in the lead role. Said to be a thriller, Lucifer is co-written by Murali Gopy and will have him playing a key role as well. The teaser of the film is out now and in it, Mohanlal steals the show all the way along with his intense portrayal. As Stephen Nedumpally, Mohanlal is seen playing a prisoner in the teaser, giving a glimpse of what s in store for Malayalam movie buffs. Produced by Antony Perumbavoor, who is a long-time associate of Mohanlal, Lucifer also features Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi in a key role, marking his debut in Malayalam. Tovino Thomas and Indrajith Sukumaran will be portraying pivotal roles as well while Manju Warrier will pair up with Mohanlal yet again in this thriller.

The makers are yet to confirm the release date of the project but it is being speculated that the film may hit the screens in early 2019. Besides Lucifer, Mohanlal has a handful of films under his belt which will be released at different times during 2019. The actor will be seen playing the menacing Manickyan in Odiyan which will release this week. He also kickstarted the shooting for his magnum opus Marakkar which is being directed by veteran Priyadarshan. On the other hand, Prithviraj is caught up with multiple projects including his maiden production 9 which is being jointly produced by Sony Indian Pictures.
