[PHOTOS] Petta Audio Launch: Rajinikanth, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Vijay Sethupathi, Trisha Krishnan and Simran grace the event

The much-waited Rajinikanth-starrer Petta is gearing up for release in January 2019 during Pongal and fans of the superstar are eager to watch the Thalaiva on the big screen. Directed by Karthik Subbaraj, Petta features Rajinikanth in a stylish new look which has gone viral and is much loved by fans. The makers released the audio album of the film at a glitzy event in Chennai which was attended by the complete cast and crew of the film. Superstar Rajinikanth, Trisha Krishnan, Simran, Vijay Sethupathi and Nawazuddin Siddiqui attended the launch which was a starry affair. Fans were in for a treat as their favourite stars shared the stage, especially with Rajinikanth. "Karthik Subbaraj took me back to the '90s in Petta and it was amazing working with him. It was tough to shoot Petta in Tamil Nadu but we did our best. Director Karthik Subbaraj is a big fan of me and his frames in Petta prove that," said Rajinikanth speaking at the audio launch of the film. The superstar was all praise for his co-stars Trisha Krishnan, Vijay Sethupathi and Simran.

"After a long time, I got a chance to act alongside a great actor like Vijay Sethupathi. He is not an ordinary actor but a great actor," said Rajinikanth speaking about Vijay. "She hasn't changed a bit since I know her and has remained the same," he said about Trisha Krishnan. Rajinikanth also thanked the director saying, "Thank you Karthik Subbaraj for making me act well," which sent fans at the venue into a frenzy.
