Director S Shankar's 2.0 featuring Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar has finally crossed the 150 crore mark at the box office today. Despite the release of Sara Ali Khan and Sushant Singh Rajput's Kedarnath, the sci-fi film minted Rs 9.15 crore at the ticket windows on Saturday. It is to be noted that the film saw an upward trend as compared to its Friday collections, which was Rs 5.85 crore. 2.0, now becomes the first film of Akshay Kumar to achieve this feat.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the box office collection of 2.0 on his Twitter handle, writing, "#2Point0 picks up speed again... Growth on second Sat [vis- -vis second Fri]: 56.41%... Should score on second Sun too... [Week 2] Fri 5.85 cr, Sat 9.15 cr. Total: 154.75 cr. India biz. Note HINDI version."

Meanwhile, 2.0 which marks the third collaboration between Rajinikanth and S. Shankar, has already earned Rs 550 crore at the worldwide box office. Produced by Lyca Productions, the film also stars Amy Jackson, Adil Hussain and Sudhanshu Pandey. For the first time ever, Akshay Kumar is essaying the role of a birdman in the film. Superstar, Rajinikanth, on the other hand, plays the role of scientist, robot and a microrobot. 2.0, which hit the silver screens on November 29, has been made on a budget of Rs 600 crore.
