The ones who loved the first season of Amazon Prime's web series featuring Ali Fazal, Vikrant Massey, Divyendu Sharma and Rasika Dugal in pivotal roles, will jump up with joy after reading this. Wondering why? Well, because, Ali Fazal, who played the role of a dreaded gangster in Mirzapur, has confirmed that the second season of the web series will be aired soon. "About season 2, hopefully early next year. We are hoping to bring you back to the world of Mirzapur. So early next year, we would but before season 2, I have some film commitments to finish both here and abroad and yeah, then after that we will begin," [sic] Ali said in a statement.
Well, Ali has just made his fans day. Talking about his character in season one of Mirzapur, Ali played a gangster. To get into the skin of his character, he shed all his inhibitions to play the role of Guddu Pandit who shoots people to seek revenge and who loses his temper at the drop of the hat in the series. The actor received immense love from the audiences, especially in Uttar Pradesh, for the portrayal of his role, fluently mouthing the local dialect incorporating cuss words.
Produced under Excel Entertainment, Mirzapur was a nine-episode series featuring Pankaj Tripathi, Ali, Vikrant Massey, Rasika Duggal, Shriya Pilgoankar and Shweta Tripathi in lead roles.
