[SEE PHOTOS] Megastar Chiranjeevi meets and lauds the makers of Vijay Deverakonda-starrer Taxiwaala

Vijay Deverakonda's latest release Taxiwaala has been doing well at the ticket window and broke even right on the first day of release. The film faced numerous hurdles before the release but emerged winner after the release. Directed by Rahul Sankrityan, Taxiwaala is a thriller starring Vijay Deverakonda in the lead role while Priyanka Jawalkar, a newcomer, and Malavika Nair played key roles in the plot. And much to the joy of the makers, Tollywood megastar Chiranjeevi met the makers of Taxiwaala at his residence in Hyderabad today and congratulated them on the success of the film. Director Rahul Sankrityan, producer SKN and actress Priyanka Jawalkar met Chiranjeevi today and the megastar praised them for daring to go all out to release despite facing so many challenges.

Footage of Taxiwaala was leaked online months before the release of the film and went viral among young audience in Telugu. People who watched the pirate copy branded the film as a disaster which caused huge damage to the film. However, the makers dared to release the film this month and it turned out to be a hit flick with Vijay Deverakonda continuing his success trend. The footage that was leaked online was without the VF works and post-production process which made way to internet through one of the VFX companies located overseas. Taxiwaala was initially slated to be released in March this year but had to be pushed to a later date owing to leakage of the footage.
