Ayushmann Khurrana's Badhaai Ho BEATS Prabhas' Baahubali 2 at the box office - here's how

Ayushmann Khurrana and Sanya Malhotra's Badhaai Ho is the only Bollywood offering, which audiences are enjoying at the ticket windows. Despite facing stiff competition from films like Bazaar and Thugs of Hindostan, the light-hearted family entertainer continued its phenomenal run at the ticket windows. Now, the film has achieved one more milestone, which will definitely surprise you as a cinegoer. In the last weekend, Badhaai Ho has raked in Rs 3.85 crore and beaten Baahubali 2 (Rs 3.35 crore) to become the highest sixth weekend grosser of all-time.

Well this is certainly a huge achievement for a small film like Badhaai Ho. The film clearly proves that if your film has the content which connects to the audience, it will definitely attract them to the cinema halls. Director Amit Ravindernath Sharma said the film was made with the utmost honesty and conviction that came from each person involved in the project."I think the same translated on-screen and we are grateful for all the love the film has received," Sharma said. The film's co-producer and Junglee Pictures President Priti Shahani added: "The response is overwhelming. Our aim at Junglee Pictures has always been to tell engaging stories in the most entertaining manner. After 'Raazi', 'Badhaai Ho' has made 2018 extra special for us." Badhaai Ho is currently the sixth highest Bollywood of this year after Sanju, Padmaavat, Baaghi 2, Thugs of Hindostan and Race 3. Talking about the success of the film and audience loving the content, Ayushmann said, "It is truly rare to receive so much love. As an artiste, you only want to entertain people. So, this appreciation is extremely moving and empowering. It motivates me to do better work, to scout for better scripts and to be disruptive yet entertaining."
