Viswasam first day collections: Ajith's rural entertainer takes a great start at the box office

Ajith-starrer Viswasam is out in theatres now and fans have given thumbs up to this entertainer. Going by the response on the first day of release, industry experts are now terming Viswasam as a hit. Directed by Siva, Viswasam has Ajith playing a massy role and his performance is being much appreciated by his fans. The film has got off to a flyer at the box office with the first day earning huge collections. Viswasam has clocked in gross earnings of more than Rs 16 crore in Tamil Nadu and turns out to be the second highest film in Ajith s career after Vivegam. Besides Tamil Nadu, the rural entertainer has earned Rs 3.75 crore from Indian markets including the adjacent states of Kerala and Karnataka. Viswasam has also managed to rake in more than Rs 10 crore from overseas markets making the overall collection a little over Rs 30 crore. This is the second highest for an Ajith film and stands next to Vivegam which has earned gross collection of Rs 33 crore approximately.

Fans say Viswasam has all the ingredients to make a perfect watch during the festival season of Pongal. Along with Ajith, the film features Nayanthara as his wife and the actress is being widely appreciated for her acting. The music of the film is composed by D Imman and the veteran composer s work is being liked by fans as well, especially the background scores. Viswasam is produced by Sathya Jyothi Films and is their third association with Thala Ajith.
