From the last one year, online piracy has affected the entertainment industry to a greater extent, especially South Indian films. But later on, the judiciary system blocked 12,000 pirated sites to control piracy. Despite all these protocols, many films like Maari 2 and Saamy Square became the victims of piracy and the latest ones to join them are the two latest big releases - Rajinikanth's Petta and Thala Ajith's Viswasam. And once again, the name behind this is the infamous website run by Tamil Rockers.
Petta and Viswasam, both the films have opened to a great response at the box office and Trade is expecting huge numbers from them. But because of the online leaks, we are worried that the business of these films might get affected. We hope the makers of the film take some crucial steps to take down the pirated copies from the Internet.
Talking about Petta, the Karthik Subbaraj directorial venture also stars Trisha Krishnan, Simran Bagga, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Vijay Sethupathi. It is produced under the banner of Sun Pictures. On the other hand, Viswasam features Nayanthara opposite Thala Ajith. The film marks the fourth collaboration between the director and Ajith after Vedhalam, Veeram and Vivegam. It also features Vivek, Thambi Ramaiah, Yogi Babu, Bose Venkat and Kovai Sarala in pivotal roles.
