Zero released on December 21 and was expected to be the game changer on the Box Office. However, the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer opened with extremely negative reviews. And the movie which opened with decent numbers is witnessing downfall since then. On the ninth day, the pitfall gets deeper, as Zero collects disappointing numbers. The Aanand L Rai's directorial had a poor opening weekend and a worse second Friday. And now with stiff competition from KGF and Simmba the condition for the family entertainer isn't getting any better. The movie has entered its second week and the reports are very disappointing for the makers. According to a report in BoxofficeIndia, Zero has collected a sum of Rs 1 crore. This results in the film's total being Rs 85.95 crores.
With the year-end and heavy competition from Simmba which is doing good on the box office, Zero doesn't see any hopes. The movie doesn't seem to be able to collect Rs 100 crore and enter the club. With this the movie won't even be able to collect its investment.
Zero is a story of Bauua Singh played Shah Rukh Khan and his crush for Babita Kumari played by Katrina Kaif. The story primarily revolves around Bauua and Afia played by Anushka Sharma and how the love story leads to Singh's journey to the Mars. The film had a supporting cast comprising of Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Sheeba Chaddha, Jaipreet Singh and Brijendra Kala.
In the review on Zero BollywoodLife had stated, "Zero has ambition written all across it in big bold letters! Clearly, the film must have seemed impossible to make on paper but with SRK at the helm, that word doesn't exist in his dictionary." The review further added, "Zero is way too long and it tests your patience early on. The filmmaker and his cast get over indulgent and carried away by the premise."
