Thugs of Hindostan - Rs 123 crore (4-day weekend)
The expectations were sky-high from this action-adventure film as two big stars, Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan, shared the silver screen for the first time. While the film achieved the milestone of the biggest opening of Indian cinema by collecting over Rs 50 crore on its first day, the negative word of mouth affected the business and soon it turned out to be a disaster at the ticket windows.
Sanju - Rs 120.06 crore
The Ranbir Kapoor-starrer biographical drama showed humongous growth over its first weekend and made box office rich with its entertaining content and extraordinary narrative by master story-teller Rajkumar Hirani.
Padmaavat - Rs 119 crore (4-day weekend)
Sanjay Leela Bhansali's period drama which released during the Republic day weekend gained momentum at the box office due to positive word of mouth. Despite getting limited audience earlier, the magnum opus made huge collections at the domestic market.
Race 3 - Rs 106.47 crore
We were more than excited for the third installment of this pacy thriller franchise as Salman Khan was on board to take us through an edge-of-the-seat ride. While Race 3 started big due to the star power of Bhaijaan, it soon lost its charm due to poor story and direction.
2.0 (Hindi) - Rs 97.25 crore (4-day weekend)
Despite having a normal release, Shankar's most expensive Indian film made on the budget of Rs 600 crore struck a chord with the audience and its opening weekend collections are the reflection of it.
