After the grand success of Keerthy Suresh's Mahanati, we have seen many south filmmakers exploring the genre of biopic. While Nandamuri Balakrishna's NTR biopic has garnered humongous buzz among the movie buffs, there are three versions on Tamil Nadu's late CM Jayalalithaa are already in the pipeline. We recently saw the impressive first look of filmmaker Priyadarshini's Jayalalithaa biopic (The Iron Lady), where Nithya Menen stepped into the shoes of the late politician.
Talking about director AL Vijay's version of Jayalalithaa's biopic, there are reports that Vidya Balan will play the titular character in the film. Apparently, the filmmaker has roped in actress Sai Pallavi to essay the character of Sasikala, who was a close confidante to CM. For those, who don't know Sasikala took over the party after the demise of Jayalalithaa. While the official confirmation of the star cast is still awaited, but it will be surely a visual treat for us to watch Vidya Balan and Sai Pallavi in one frame. Interestingly, Vidya Balan will be next seen in NTR biopic, where she will play the character of Basavatarakam, wife of NTR. Apart from Vidya Balan and Nandamuri Balakrishna, the film features the ensemble star cast of Rana Daggubati, Sumanth, Nithya Menen, Rakul Preet and many others.
