The Accidental Prime Minister quick movie review: Akshaye Khanna keeps you hooked in the first half with a sparkling performance

The Accidental Prime Minister has been in the news since a while now due to the reported controversial content. It is about how Dr Manmohan Singh suddenly became the Prime Minister of the country and what is the exact truth about the common notion that he was a puppet in the hands of Congress Cheif Sonia Gandhi. At the outset, it is not a propaganda film but gives a third person view of the decisions taken by the PM. The third person is Sanjaya Baru, the media advisor played by Akshaye Khanna. The actor is in top form and you wish that he does more films. Anupam Kher is also in good form.
A pat on the back for the team that cast actors for the film. They have picked people who resemble the politicians and you can easily identify who is who. The best part is that it shows the human side of Manmohan Singh though not to a great deal. There are many moments that make you chuckle with the dry humour.
It is at the point where the PM has to decide about the nuclear deal. Let us see what the second half has in store...
