“It Is All About Changing Mindsets,” Sushant Singh Rajput On The #MeToo Movement

The #MeToo movement in Bollywood is far from dying down. Where some actors have refrained from commenting on it, a number of actors have come out and expressed their opinion. Recently, Sushant Singh Rajput shared his views on the #MeToo movement in interaction with Mid-Day. He said, “The movement is a good thing. It is all about changing mindsets.”

Sushant will soon start shooting for the last schedule of his film, Kizie Aur Manny in Paris. The film was on hold because Mukesh Chhabra, who is making his directorial debut with the film, was accused of sexual misconduct. But now, all the allegations against him have been cleared. There were also rumours of Sushant misbehaving with his co-star, Sanjana Sanghi, who is making her Bollywood debut with this film. The actor had then shared screenshots of his conversation with Sanjana and the debutante too had rubbished all those rumours. Sushant spoke about that episode in the interview with the daily.

He said:

It was paradoxical because it (#MeToo movement) was something that I stand for. I happened to be one of the intentional and strategic casualties. Many paid campaigners were used to give it a burst. I felt bad and misunderstood. The more it gets written about, the more it damages my reputation, which I have worked hard to build.

We are just glad that the entire episode is now clear and the Hindi remake of Fault In Our Stars is back on track.
