Aaliyah Dana Haughton was born on January 16, 1979, and passed away on August 25, 2001.
She was better known to her fans as just Aaliyah.
She was a was a recording artist and actress.
Aaliyah appeared in two movies, Romeo Must Die (2000) and Queen of the Damned (2002). Had she not passed away in the plane crash, she would have also satrred in Honey (2003, recast to Jessica Alba), The Matrix Reloaded/The Matrix Revolutions (2003 recast to Nona Gaye) and State Property 2 (2005, recast to Mariah Carey).
In music, she also had 10 Top 25 hit singles on the Billboard charts.
The single "Try Again" became the first song in history to top the Billboard Hot 100 only by airplay.
There are currently plans for a movie based on her life.

Will she or won't she?
I thought Britney was supposed to be the one that didn't know what she doing, but it looks like that's spread and no one knows what she is doing.
I guess only time will tell.

Britney Spears has rubbished rumours she?s to present hit US show Saturday Night Live again.
The singer was reported to be returning to the programme next month.
But producers insists there is ?no truth? to the story, reports Access Hollywood.
