Petta and Viswasam open well as theatres see full houses

Film lovers in Kollywood are having one rocking Sankranti. Thala Ajith's Viswasam and Rajinikanth's Petta have hit the screens today. Fans of both the actors have given a thumbs up to the films and it seems they are running to packed houses. The nice part is apparently fans of opposing fandoms have also liked each other's films. Both the films are running to packed houses. Rajinikanth's fans cannot thank Karthik Subbaraj enough for bringing back the vintage Thalaiva. In fact, people are comparing his swag to that in films like Padayappa, Baasha and Sivaji. On the other hand, Ajith has single-handedly powered Viswasam with his comic timing and energy.

Our reviewer Gautham Pattikonda wrote about Petta, "Rajinikanth is the show-stealer in Petta and there's no second thought in that. Petta is all that you want to see as a Rajinikanth fan and if you aren't a fan, this mass-entertainer is a perfect example of why he is the superstar of Indian cinema. Swag, style, intensity and the list could go on forever but the list of adjectives to describe his magnanimity when on screen would still fall short. Vijay Sethupathi, in a brief yet important part, shines like always. The 96 actor manages to garner equal limelight even while sharing the screen space with Rajinikanth." Stay tuned for more updates!
