Ranveer Singh's Simmba set to BEAT SRK's Chennai Express to become director Rohit Shetty's highest grosser

Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan starrer Simmba has turned out to be a huge blockbuster at the box office. The masala actioner has shattered many records and earned Rs 224.84 crore in just 17 days at the domestic market. By today or tomorrow, the film will surpass the business of Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer Chennai Express (Rs 227 crore) to become director Rohit Shetty's highest grosser of all-time.

Interestingly, Simmba is Rohit Shetty's eighth consecutive Rs 100 crore film after Golmaal 3, Singham, Bol Bachchan, Chennai Express, Singham Returns, Dilwale and Golmaal Again. Backed by Reliance Entertainment, Rohit Shetty Picturez and Dharma Productions has become the biggest Bollywood box office earner for all three production houses by collecting Rs 350 crore globally. According to a statement from Reliance Entertainment, "Simmba" has entered the top 10 Bollywood films of all time in terms of net domestic box office.

Shetty, who is happy the film is "roaring globally", feels the success not only belongs to him but also to fans and the fraternity as a whole. "It feels incredible to see the excitement and fabulous response of the audience for 'Simmba' in cinema halls everywhere. I am very happy with the appreciation the film is garnering," he said. Karan Johar said Dharma Productions is proud and ecstatic with Simmba. "Rohit Shetty is a mainstream maverick and this has been one of our best associations and looking forward to many more with him and his team. Simmba marks the beginning of a solid professional bond between Rohit and me! Personally, he is one of the best guys in the business and a true friend," he said.

Richa Chadha: Excited to play lawyer on screen for first time

Actress Richa Chadha, who will be seen sharing screen space with actor Akshaye Khanna in the upcoming courtroom drama "Section 375", says she is excited to play a lawyer on screen for the first time. "I am excited to play a lawyer on screen for the first time. Everyone I am working with on this project, I have been a fan of," Richa said in a statement. The actress started shooting for "Section 375" on Monday here. The first leg of the schedule will be shot here.

Talking about her co-star Akshaye, she said: "I love Akshaye Khanna as an actor and his last few outings have been amazing. I am happy to collaborate with director Ajay Behl too. I loved how nuanced 'B.A. Pass' was... This is a great start to 2019 and I feel blessed to take on this firebrand character". The film "Section 375" highlights how a critical law meant for the safety of women can be misused. Richa reached out to fans via Instagram, urging them to wish her luck for the new film's beginning.

She thanked the film's team for the warm welcome and for "being so cool and supportive". As the title suggests, the film will speak about the particular section as defined in the Indian Penal Code. The project is backed by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Kumar Mangat and Abhishek Pathak.

Fans are extremely DISAPPOINTED by Game of Thrones season 8 promo – here’s why

HEADS UP! THIS ARTICLE HAS A SPOILER

It is no secret that Game of Thrones season 8 will feature some of our favourite characters deaths. Speculations have been all over the internet suggesting which character will get to sit on the throne in the final episode and which character wouldn t make it to the series finale. While we are waiting for the season to premiere in order to speculate further, the new Game of Thrones season 8 promo has hinted at a possibility that -- SPOILER ALERT -- the three Starks could die in the season finale.

If you look at the promo closely, you would see Jon Snow (Kit Harrington), Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) and Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) walking through the crypts of Winterfell which houses statues of Ned Stark and Lyanna Stark. As the trailer comes to an end, the trio sees their statues as well, hinting that they could get killed too.

While nothing has been confirmed yet, there is a huge possibility that anything could happen in the last season. The new trailer has also finally confirmed that the first episode of Game of Thrones last season will air on April 14, as against popular speculations that the final season would kick-start most likely in the last weekend of the month.

The two updates broke the internet with fans having a meltdown. While they are going gaga over the confirmed premiere date, they are unable to process the new hint in the promo and are heartbroken that this will be the last time they will be preparing for a season of Game of Thrones. Yes, the realisation has hit us hard it s all ending.

The Hollywood Reporter reveals that while the season features just six episodes, each Game of Thrones Season 8 episode will be as long as 90 minutes. Clearly, it is going to be one helluva summer!
