The Pongal weekend has ended and Thalaivar Rajinikanth's Petta has emerged victorious in the box office battle with Thala Ajith's Viswasam in the Chennai market. Though, if we look at the collections of both the films, there was a neck-to-neck between them and Thalaivar's film won the clash just by a whisker. It'll be interesting to see whether Viswasam will beat Petta in the second week to grab the top spot.

On the third spot, it's Nandamuri Balakrishna's NTR Kathanayakudu. The biographical drama which chronicles the journey of legendary actor and politician NT Rama Rao has received appreciation for its art direction and extraordinary performances from the ensemble star cast. Interestingly, the second part of the film NTR Mahanayakudu is scheduled to release on 25 of this month. This sequel will showcase the political journey of NTR.
Ram Charan, Kiara Advani and Vivek Oberoi starrer Vinaya Vidheya Rama has grabbed the fourth position in the list of top 5. Since the film has received negative reviews, the film will struggle to finds its place in the second week. Venkatesh and Varun Tej starrer F2 Fun and Frustration is on the fifth position in the list. Apart from the domestic market, the film has performed exceptionally well in the international markets too.
