[VIDEO] Rajinikanth breaks down as he pays his last respects to Rebel Star Ambareesh

It is indeed a sad Sunday for the South Indian film industry. Veteran Kannada actor Ambareesh breathed his last on Saturday night due to a cardiac arrest. He was known as the Rebel Star and a man with a golden heart. Celebrities from Kannada, Telugu and Tamil film industries have condoled his demise on Twitter. Rajinikanth and Chiranjeevi have reached to Bangalore to pay their last respects to Ambareesh, whose mortal remains have been kept at Bangalore's Shri Kanteerava Stadium. Ambareesh was known for his humility, grace and dignified behaviour. On hearing about the demise, Rajinikanth wrote that he lost a great friend. On seeing his body, the 2.0 star could not hold back his tears. He consoled Ambareesh's wife Sumalatha.

They worked together in the film, Priya. Ambareesh was a superb actor and made his debut in 1972. He got a National Award for his first film, Naagarahaavu. The man got the title of Rebel Star after the film, Chakravyuha. The film was based on politics and remade in Hindi too.

Telugu megastar Chiranjeevi also reached the venue to pay his final respects. Now, arrangements are being made in Ambareesh's hometown, Mandya to bring the body for public viewing.

In his glorious career, he won many awards. His presence will be sorely missed. Bollywood Life offers its condolences to the family and friends.

Amitabh Bachchan buys machines for manual scavengers

Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan has fulfilled a promise he made to help manual scavengers by arranging machines. "At the NDTV Cleanathon 'Banega Swachh India', seeing the inhuman plight of the manual scavenger, I had committed to buy 50 machines for them. Today I fulfilled that promise! 25 small individual machines and one large truck machine gifted to BMC," Amitabh tweeted early on Sunday. In a letter dated November 24, and addressed to the Manual Scavengers Association (MSA) and the BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the actor said he wanted to do something to prevent manual scavengers from physically and manually going down the manholes and sewer drainages.

"My contribution was to prevent the dehumanising work of these scavengers and to give them the respect and dignity in society," Big B wrote. The actor had committed Rs 50 lakh towards purchase of machines for the workers. "I am donating a large machine to the BMC and with the balance funding, donating smaller machines to the individual workers," Amitabh said. He has urged the BMC and MSA to give a report consistently on the right and correct usage of the equipment. The actor has been actively working to help farmers as well.

Amitabh Bachchan was seen last in the Thugs of Hindostan where he played the part of Khuda Baksh. The megastar got immense appreciation though the film tanked. Stay tuned to BL for more scoop and updates!

RIP Ambareesh: Rajinikanth, Allu Arjun, Nani condole the death of the man with a golden heart

Veteran Kannada cine actor M.H. Ambareesh passed away at a private hospital here on Saturday night following a heart attack, said a duty doctor. He was 66. "Ambareesh died after a massive cardiac arrest a couple of hours after he was brought to our hospital due to breathing problem in the evening, the doctor told IANS. The superstar of the sandalwood film industry is survived by his wife and multi-lingual actress Sumalaltha and a son. Ambareesh is also a Congress leader and former cabinet minister in the previous Congress government. In a statement today, the hospital, however, said, Ambareesh was found unresponsive at his residence (in the city's southern suburb) and resuscitation efforts were initiated at his home and continued en-route to the hospital. "Despite all aggressive resuscitation efforts, Amabreesh could not be revived and is declared deceased at 22.15 on 24.11.2018," added the statement.

As the shocking news of Ambareesh death was flashed on local news channels and went viral on social media, hundreds of his frenzied fans thronged the hospital, wailing for the sudden loss of their legendary hero. Karnataka Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy, cabinet ministers K.J. George and D.K. Shivakumar were among the several political leaders who visited the hospital soon after doctors declared Ambareesh dead.

The body has been kept for last respects and Rajinikanth has reached Bangalore to be with the bereaved family. Chiranjeevi is also reaching for the funeral. Stay tuned for more updates!
