Simmba, the spillover Christmas film from 2018, had a great time at the box office this year as well since there were no releases at the start. It managed to go bigger and better every day because there was no other film to watch and thus Ranveer Singh's cop -drama became an obvious choice. The fact that it is a rousing entertainer has also made people watch it again and again. But finally, with the first releases of 2019 hitting the theatres, Simmba has started to slow down. But it still managed to post a really good number at the box office on its third Friday. It earned Rs 2.60 crore yesterday and took the toll to a glorious Rs 215.03 crore.

#Simmba gets affected by multiple new releases... Despite reduction in screen count, posts a healthy number on third Fri... Third Sat and third Sun should again witness growth... [Week 3] Fri 2.60 cr. Total: 215.03 cr. India biz.

Another reason why Simmba has slowed down is that it isn't playing on as many screens as it did before. The new releases did reduce the count for Ranveer's film but it didn't affect its numbers much. It still is preferred by the audience this weekend. That's the charm of being an out and out entertainer. People don't mind watching it again!
