Uri The Surgical Strike was meant to get a good response at the box office and it has met expectations. In fact, it has exceeded expectations. We predicted that the film will earn anything between Rs 5-6 crore but the Vicky Kaushal war drama managed an excellent Rs 8.20 crore at the box office on day 1. That's an incredible opening for a film which doesn't boast of big names. In fact, solo releases of Vicky have hardly managed such a grand number. If the trending continues, the actor will finally come out of his own to deliver box office successes.

Uri also managed to get favourable reviews from the critics. Vicky plays Major Vihan Shergill in the film which talks about's India's revenge after several jawans were killed during the Uri attack. The nation unified after the attacks and many hailed the Modi Government for executing surgical strikes to tell our enemies, there's only so much that India can endure. The whole essence of the film must have connected with the audience who just can't stop raving about it. Good word of mouth will work in the film's favour. Saturday and Sunday are expected to get more earnings as these are holidays.
