Ranveer Singh's Simmba is doing a fab business at the box office. It has managed to score another Rs 100 crore for Ranveer after Padmaavat and both are 2018 releases. Rohit Shetty's hit formula of blending action, romance, dhamekadar dialogues and flashy songs has worked again at the box office. He now has the most number of Rs 100 crore film as a director, which comes to 8. What worked tremendously in its favour apart from the presentation is it got two big holidays to boost its ticket sales. December 31 was a partial holiday while Jan 1 had many people flocking the theatres because it was an off. Simmba thus became the obvious choice. That also helped the film record Jan 1 numbers higher than even Salman Khan's Tiger Zinda Hai. While Dangal takes the top spot with Rs 32.04 crore, Simmba secures the second position with Rs 28.19 crore. TZH had scored Rs 18.04 crore on that day. Clearly, the film managed to make the most of its time under the sun.
