Ram Pothineni joins hands with director Puri Jagannadh for the first time and movie-buffs of Telugu cinema are quite kicked about this crazy combination. The makers have now unveiled the title and the first look of the film and it is something we have never heard before. The film has been titled iSmart Shankar and Ram Pothineni is seen sporting a massy look in the poster. The makers of the film have also tagged it with #HyderaBADDIE meaning the role played by Ram hails from Hyderabad and the film would be a massy entertainer. While they are yet to finalise a lead actress which is expected to happen over the next few weeks, the film will go on the floors in February 2019 and is expected to be released in the summer of 2019. Ram Pothineni was last seen in Hello Guru Prema Kosame which also starred Anupama Parameswaran and Pranitha Subhash as leading ladies. Directed by Trinadha Rao Nakkina, Hello Guru Prema Kosame was a rom-com and had a decent run at the box office.
Puri Jagannadh, on the other hand, hasn t been having a great run in his career. Puri last directed Mehbooba which featured his son Akash in the lead role. The film was a love saga but failed to impress the audience upon release eventually turning out to be a dud at the box office. We are sure that admirers of the filmmaker must be hoping he is back in the race with iSmart Shankar which promises to be an entertainer, going by the poster.
