Director Amit Sharma's Badhaai Ho is one running dark horse at the box office. Despite having limited screens and shows, the light-hearted family entertainer continues to garner good footfalls at the ticket windows, due to its great content and the dismal performance of Aamir Khan's Thugs of Hindostan. Apart from the domestic circuit, the film has surprised everyone, with its mind-boggling performance in the international markets.
#BadhaaiHo has emerged a MASSIVE HIT Overseas... The film has crossed US$ 3 million in #USA + #Canada and cruised past A$ 700,000 in #Australia... The numbers are HIGHER than many star-studded films that opened in 2018, including #TOH... @comScore

In the key markets of USA, Canada and Australia, Badhaai Ho has beaten many Bollywood biggies of this year including Thugs of Hindostan. When director Amit was asked about the phenomenal response, he replied, "You can't write or direct a film thinking that whether it will work. When you write a film, you hope that it will do well. There has to be a positive demand or approach that the film on which we are working on should do well." (Also Read: I am proud of the choices I have been making, says Ayushmann Khurrana)
