Akshay Kumar is going all out to promote his upcoming film, 2.0, which also has superstar Rajinikanth. While on a promotional spree, the actor has been making interesting revelations as well, which many of us wanted to find out about since long. From revealing about the commencement of Kesari and Good News to giving clarity about Disha Patani's role in Mission Mangal, Akki bared it all. Today, at one such media interaction, the 51-year old quashed rumours about Disha Patani's part in Mission Mangal, saying that the actress was never a part of the film which is touted to be the first Indian space film.
He further said, "She was never approached. Ask me as I am the producer for the film." Well, since it is coming straight from the horse's mouth, it should put an end to the rumours. Meanwhile, Mission Mangal, which also stars Taapsee Pannu, Sonakshi Sinha, Vidya Balan, Sharman Joshi and Nithya Menon, was recently embroiled in a controversy after a US-based filmmaker, Radha Bhardawaj approached the Bombay High Court against the makers of the film Mission Mangal claiming copyright infringement.
Reacting to the claims of Radha Bharadwaj, director R Balki had told Mid-Day, "We have taken the core of the story and added fictional characters to make it an interesting screenplay. Only ISRO can claim rights to the core story. I urge Radha to come to my office and read our script. I am certain she will find it refreshing. She hasn t even read it, so how can she make such claims?" Produced by Cape of Good Films and Fox Star Studios, Mission Mangal is based on India's 2013 space mission- Mangalyaan. It is scheduled to hit the silver screens on August 15, 2019.
