Varun Tej to feature in the Telugu remake of Karthik Subbaraj's Jigarthanda? Here's what we know

Tamil film Jigarthanda was one of the most acclaimed films in 2014 and director Karthik Subbaraj was much lauded for his narrative. The film was a story about an aspiring filmmaker, played by Siddharth, who tries to get closer to a gangster, played by Bobby Simha, in an attempt to pen down a story for his film. The film went on to become a bigger hit and brought great appreciation to the director. And according to latest reports, Jigarthanda may be remade in Telugu with top stars. News has it that the remake will be directed by Harish Shankar who last directed Duvvada Jagannadham starring Allu Arjun. Emerging reports suggest that Varun Tej could be signed on to reprise the role played by Bobby Simha in the original. "The Telugu remake is by director Harish Shankar, and Varun Tej is in talks to reprise the role of Bobby Simha in the film. It will go on floors from January. Other members from the cast will be announced soon," a report in IFlicks quoted a source as saying. Going by Varun Tej's choice of films in the recent past, it will be a good pick if the actor gives his nod for this remake. It will be interesting to see who the makers bring on board to reprise the role played by Siddharth.

Varun Tej has a film lined up for release this week, Antariksham 9000 KMPH, which is touted to be the first space film in Telugu. And a month later, Varun Tej will be seen in the multi-starrer F2: Fun & Frustration co-starring Venkatesh.
