Kangana Ranaut looks every inch a regal matriarch as she poses with Damodar Rao in this poster from Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi

The trailer of Kangana Ranaut's Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi will be unveiled today in the afternoon. The actress will be seen in the titular role of Queen Lakshmibai who waged a fierce battle against the British during the Mutiny of 1857. A new poster has come out where we can see Kangana Ranaut looking stunning in a velvet saree with a golden brocade border. The actress shows us the maternal side of her character as she sits with son, Damodar Rao in her lap. It is very bit regal. As we know, Rani Lakshmibai had an adopted son, Damodar Rao after her infant son died. The adoption happened a day before the death of the Maharaja. The British had given in writing that the rights of the child would be protected but apparently, they did not keep their word. This enraged the Queen who said she would not give her Jhansi.

Kangana Ranaut took over the reins of Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi after filmmaker Krish left the project mid-way due to some reasons. The highlight of the film is supposed to be the action sequences choreographed by Nick Powell. The film also stars Ankita Lokhande as Jhalkaribai, Taher Shabbir Mithaiwala and Jisshu Sengupta. Kangana has invested close to two years for the film, which seems to be a big budget historical. Stay tuned for more updates!
