#Manikarnikatrailer: From Jodha Akbar to Baahubali, four ICONIC movies the Kangana Ranaut-starrer reminded us of

The trailer of Kangana Ranaut-starrer Manikarnika was released today and boy, it is an impressive watch. The January release features the Queen star transforming herself into Rani Lakshmi Bai to bring the tale of the renowned hero to the big screen. The new trailer teases action, drama and what not! There was sword fighting to riding the horses and even tackling an elephant in the trailer. While all these were amazing, we couldn t help but we felt like we were walking down the memory lane when we watched a few scenes in the trailer. Here s a look at the ones we instantly remembered:

Brave:

The establishing shot of Kangana in the trailer reminded us so much of the animated movie Brave. The actress s curly hair, the bow and arrow in her hands and her blue ensemble reminded us of the movie.

Jodhaa Akbar:

Call us what you may but we screamed Jodhaa Akbar when we noticed Kangana sword fighting with a few castle men and eventually finding her way on the elephant. Who could forget the brilliant elephant fighting scene featuring Hrithik Roshan in the Ashutosh Gowariker movie.

Bajirao Mastani:

Be it the grandeur or it could be the setup of the throne but the scene wherein Kangana is seen holding on to her son while seated as the Queen of Jhansi brought back memories of Ranveer Singh s Baajirao Mastani. In the Sanjay Leela Bhansali movie, the actor was seen seated in a similar fashion.

300:

This is Sparta, from 300 was ringing in our heads when we saw Kangana hold a sword against the British general in the climax of the trailer. The iconic scene featured Gerard Butler. Here s a look back at it.

Manikarnika releases on December 26. Watch the trailer here:
