Thalapathy Vijay and director A.R.Murugadoss' first collaboration Thuppakki is one of the biggest hits in Tamil cinema and is considered as one of the films that made Vijay the star he is today. The film was remade in Hindi later as Holiday with Akshay Kumar in the lead role and went on to become another hit for the director. Fans of Vijay have long been asking for a sequel to the Thuppakki which has always been the point whenever Murugadoss spoke at public events. And recently, Murugadoss was at an awards night in Chennai where again this point came up. And in the conversation, A.R.Murugadoss confirmed that there will be a sequel to Thuppakki and soon something should shape up there. Murugadoss also added that the script has been in the pipeline for a long time and has been in his line of films. Murugadoss and Vijay recently collaborated for Sarkar which went on to become one of the bigger hits this year. Sarkar was a political drama and had Vijay playing a vigilante who takes on the political forces against him in the state of Tamil Nadu. Sarkar has had its own share of controversies after the government found few objectionable scenes in the film and protested against it.
