While X'mas is the season of sparkle, cakes and gifts, it is also a time when you can brighten up the lives of others by the spirit of giving. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan did just that when she graced the Christmas party and annual day of the child wing's of Tata Memorial Hospital, which is the city's most famous cancer hospital. Dressed in a pink suit, Aishwarya cheered on the kids as they put up a number of performances ranging from classical dance to qawaali. What was extremely heart-warming was the sight of Ash showering so much love on the little ones. She posed for pictures, cheered them on and cuddled them up. Some of the candid pictures of the actress will surely make up smile. Aishwarya is always at the forefront when it comes to something related to children. The actress sat through the function and the happiness on the kids' faces is something to behold.
The actress has been working with children having cleft lips since a while now under the Smile Foundation. She also has the Aishwarya Rai Foundation that works with children. She recently told Hindustan Times about her association with children born with cleft lips, "I ve never felt the need to announce what we did through my foundation until the recent times as with the impact of social media, the world is becoming smaller. Information, if channelised positively, can be effective. So after actualising say 100 surgeries, I chose to announce these contributions as by doing so you have the ability to influence people, who are listening to contribute to changing a child s life. It s not just about correcting a cleft but also about the way of life from eating to talking to their personality things we take for granted." Surely, the kids had a wonderful time with the actress.
